“Perfect for a relaxing break!”
The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful and would recommend places to visit on the island. The hotel chefs happily created a vegetarian menu for me and the five course dinner every evening was excellent (possibly the best bread in Mauritius is made at the hotel every day!). This small hotel, with a family-run feel deserves its Expedia recommendation. For families this hotel might not be so perfect as direct sea access is only possible via a jetty although a 2 minute walk reveals a cove around the corner which the public can use and this was mostly deserted. Also, the hotel doesn't advertise its spa and gym as well as it could. I would definitely return to this hotel again, if visiting Mauritius.
“Great Family Holiday”
We have just returned from two glorious weeks at Hibiscus and can truthfully highly recommend it for a family holiday in a home-from-home atmosphere. The staff are very helpful and, whilst giving the impression of being very laid-back, they do their very best to look after your every need. The nature of the Mauritian is happy and friendly and this could easily be interpreted as over-familiarity, but this is far from the truth; people are very respectful and kind. A wonderful place to relax and unwind, Hibiscus is highly recommended and, God willing, we can return there some time in the future.
“"value for money and great staff"”
5 star service by all staff , nothing was too much trouble, they all aim to make your stay wonderful. We spent 20 glorious days and were very well looked after. We opted for the inclusive breakfast and dinner package and were pleasantly suprised every evening when the chef presented us with a new creation every time. "Yum Yum " The room was spacious with a huge shower and plenty of hot water. The resort grounds were very tranquil and well kept .Divers paradise with a dive shop on site. A very special private beach is hidden less than 100 meters away. Across the road taxi stop, bus stop, restuarants, shops and tour office...all you need for a hastel free holiday is at the Hibiscus
“A superb hotel”
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at the Hibiscus. The setting was perfect, very relaxing and beautiful. The hotel staff were excellent and could not have done more for us. Accommodation was of an extremely high standard and very clean.
“Wonderful hotel and great location.”
Was our first trip to Mauritius in Dec 2006. Have to say it may not be our last after a very special time spent at the Hibiscus. Great apartment and location, our one looked over the sea and coast. Really the pictures don't do this place justice. It has all the facilities you need as well as it's best kept secret it's private beach, which is a godsend as the public beaches can get a little conjested. It's location is great also, with all things you require. Grand Bay is also 45 minute walk along the beautiful coastal walk or 5mins and a couple of ruppees by the bus. After hiring a car for a few days and having a good look round the island. I would say that the hibiscus ticks all the correct boxes for location, amenities, privacy, quality and service. Forgot to mention the staff were also superb. Enjoy...
“Great Relaxing Time”
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Hibiscus. The hotel was clean and well maintained and is not done justice by the appearance from the road which gives an unjustified negative first impression. We were delighted to have a room situated yards from the beach which was modern and well maintained. The beach was private but did not offer good opportunities for swimming apart from off the boating jetty. There is another more traditional beach adjoining the hotel however. The staff were helpful and although our needs were not great as it was a 'lie in the sun' break for us they offer help to arrange excursions, taxis etc. Also there is a thriving water-sports facility which offers scuba diving, snorkelling, water-skiing etc. as well as trips to the reef in a glass-bottomed boat from their own jetty. The food offered by the hotel varied - the buffet breakfasts were good but suffered from slowness in 'topping up' items that had run out. However the evening meal staff were excellent and attentive and the food fantastic. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if going back to Mauritius would stay there again.
