“Nothing to write home about”
I was not all that impressed with my stay. The room had broken furniture, no refridgerator (additional cost), no microwave (additional cost), and all you got was a couple bars of soap. The service was friendly, but the room looked really worn down. For the price it wasn't bad, but I was hoping for a little more.
“Very basic”
All rooms at Red Roof Inns open directly to the outside (not an interior building hallway like I'm used to). Probably not as secure with the door opening directly outside. No frills what so ever! However, not bad for just a quick, cheap place to spend one night.
“Saving a few bucks? Stay here. Comfort? Try someplace else.”
Located about 5-6 minutes outside of Downtown. For a quick overnight stay in Peoria, not a bad way to go. It was the most inexpensive room that particular weekend in town. If it's extended, I'd suggest a different hotel. I reserved 3 rooms for a group and all had sagging mattresses easily manufactured 15 years ago. I was booked into a room that already had guests staying in it. States free Wi-Fi but you do have to pay for a block of time to use it.
“Affordable”
Small rooms but good price
“Nice people”
My assigned, non-smoking, room smelled strongly of cigarettes and I was cheerfully given another room. The room was clean. The price was cheap. The front desk personnel were very nice.
“Barely tolerable”
We had reserved two rooms for one night. Overall the facility was not very clean. In one room the faucet in the sink shot water all over the counter and floor rendering almost non-usable. The "climate control" had one setting only and the room reeked of cigarette smoke. It actually permeated our luggage. The second room was no better. They could not get any heat in the room and there was no lock on the door causing them to pile the table and chairs in the room up against the door. The smokey smell in this room was worse, causing the inhabitants to get out of the room by 6AM as it was causing severe headaches. Suffice to say none of us had a restful night.
“disappointed”
No fridge or microwave which is disappointing this day and age. Long term residents apparently in the building I stayed in. Late night pounding and verbal fights every night. Will not come back.
“Nightmare in Peoria”
I would recommend staying at the Baymont or the Extended Stay which are in the immediate vicinity of this motel. The bed did not support my back -- and the room does not even have a blow dryer -- In my opinion Red Roof should pay you to stay here... Avoid this place!
“very loud atmosphere”
The hotel staf was friendly and the building was well maintained, however, there are some nearby 24 hour restaurants whose employees and friends in the parking lots were very loud and disrespectful of sleeping people from 11pm-3am, playing loud music in cars and carrying on outside. Also, many people were knocking on neighboring room doors from 9pm to 4:30 am, not sure why. I slept about 30 minutes at a time all night before being woken up.
“It'll do in a pinch”
The staff was very nice, but the room left much to be desired. I could deal with the blah mattress, but when I closed the bathroom door to discover a towel left by another guest, I got grossed out. Knowing that the housekeeper had not fully cleaned my room made me resolve never to go back to that motel unless I absolutely had to.
