“Free happy hour.”
This stay was more than acceptable, I went down for a house hunting adventure and was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff, and the over all feel of the hotel. It is a motel that was beautifully remodeled into a very nice, and clean hotel right in the middle of downtown. Plus free happy hour everyday at 5! Which is a nice welcome from a long day of plane rides. The only down side is that the showers and tile for the bathroom still need some updates, but other than that it was a very nice stay. The staff is also very helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas from good places to eat to which portion of the beach to visit, to pretty much where ever you need to go in the valley. If your are house hunting one of the staff is very helpful with that too!!! Also, we had to stay an extra day and the owner was very kind to give us the same rate that we booked on expedia.com. I would highly recommend this place and I can see why it was voted number one on tripadvisor.com for 2010!
“Location!”
location location..This hotel sits in downtown Pensacola near all the little shops and bars all in walking distance. We were pleased to see a farmers market right down from the hotel held each Saturday. I would say 10 minutes from the beach. The hotel itself has a simple clean retro theme throughout the lobby, rooms and outside lounging area. We had our 1 year old and 3 year old with us and we all enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again.
“Our Pensacola Home!”
We've stayed here several times and we've never been disappointed. This is our Pensacola Home! We love the fact that we're so close to all the nightlife especially the sports bars (and there are several to chose from). We love hanging out with our friends, watching football, eating & drinking. Everything is within walking distance of the hotel so there's no drinking & driving AND we don't have to have a designated driver. The hotel has always been very accomodating and the staff go beyond being just friendly - they're almost like family too! The ONLY complaint I MIGHT have is I wish there was a larger tv (& flat panel) in the room. EVERYTHING else about the hotel is fabulous! They also have a GREAT outdoor space and spend time with family/friends. We LOVE this place and ***H*I*G*H*L*Y*** recommend it to anyone that is going to be downtown enjoying the nightlife/sports bars/Seville Quarter/The Palafox Pier/etc.
“Great Location”
It was very convenient. It was modern and clean. Bathroom a bit small but I like the stand up shower.
“Wonderful”
Very retro stylish. Loved the use of space. Motel price with 5 star hotel diggs.
“Will Stay Again, And Again, And Again, ETC!!”
We were there for two nights and this is the place to stay in Pensacola, especially during the holidays and football season. The owner has a really nice cocktail hour every night. The hotel is located within walking distance to many great bars and restaurants (sports bars too!). For New Year's Eve, we had a goodie bag in our room with snacks, hats, blowers and a bottle of champagne! This hotel is also within walking distance to the Pelican Drop on New Year's Eve! We called a cab to take us to dinner (Carrabba's Italian Restaurant) and it was only like $7 to get there. The owner also does a really great breakfast (for New Year's morning, he even had black-eye peas on the buffet!). The only SMALL complaint I have about the room is the size of the tv should be a little bigger (and a flat screen) and apparently the maid has long hair because I found many long brown hairs in the bathroom that should have been cleaned up (but they were on the floor so I didn't care too much). The outside common area is really nice too with lots of tables and chairs and a fire pit. We will definitely stay here again - great hotel, great staff, great location and great price.
“Good place to use as a crash pad while working in town”
This hotel is great if you need a place to crash and aren't looking for anything fancy. I was working in Pensacola for a week, and it was perfect. They have a pretty good breakfast in the morning, and it's super convenient to downtown Pensacola. If I was here for vacation, I would want a place with a pool, but for work it was perfect. Would stay here again.
“A WONDERFUL EXPERIANCE”
This hotel is perfect for adults. Wonderful clean rooms. Great staff! We every much enjoyed our stay.
“Awesome Hotel”
Loved the Hotel and Staff! Very clean rooms and lobby!
“Retro, Chic, Sofisticated and Very Comfortable”
We chose this hotel for an anniversary weekend getaway and LOVED it! It's very retro-cool. The decor is sophisticated but not stuffy, chic yet comfortable. We enjoyed soaking up the warm sun on quality lounge chairs at the courtyard as water danced around the whimsical fountain. The location is perfect for enjoying lovely downtown Pensacola. We happened to be there during Gallery Night, which is a fun street party on Palafox. We could walk to all the action from our hotel. In fact, the hotel participates in the festivities of Gallery Night with outdoor music and drinks in the courtyard. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. There is a record store right across the street, which is a plus. Only negatives: Our room didn't get cleaned til around 4:00pm. (But it did get cleaned) We were there while a large number of guests were in town for an arena size country music concert and they were partying at the hotel long hours into the night after the show. I could still hear them at 3am! I would imagine families with small children or seniors may not find this as tolerable as we did. Overall, this just happens to be my kind of place, from top to bottom, and I will always choose this hotel for every one of my downtown Pensacola weekend getaways. By the way, be sure to check out Hopjacks, a tap house on Palafox, during your Pensacola visit. Good food and great beer!
