“Good Location”
The hotel is in a very convenient location,very near to a bus stop,can take a Rapid bus into town or to Batu Ferringhi,Waterfall gardens etc.Room is big and spacious,furniture,bathroom fixtures a bit old but not too bad.
“good hotel for the price”
Nice hotel in a quieter atmosphere than Batu Ferringi. Their private beach is not that great with little room to lay down your towel and is completely empty for most of the day. I think all rooms have a seaview, which provides good views during the day. My shower water pressure was very low, but can't complain too much since I got a free upgrade to a junior suite (no more standard rooms available). Bus stops are right outside the hotel, both to Batu Ferringi and Georgetown. Overall, it was a good hotel with good service and low price.
“Some areas needed refurbishing to reach standard of restaurant and pool area.”
Bad Bits Little old and shabby in places. Opposite end of the island from the airport. Slope up to hotel quite steep - not suitable for old or infirmed. Good bits Beach clean and secluded although unable to swim because of jelly fish. Staff always friendly and helpful. Nice clean restaurant with good and varied menu available. Pool area always clean and tidy with towels available.
“Good for a short stay”
This hotel is good for its fare. Try to rent a car yourself and get around the island with the map that will make your stay more enjoyable. The hotel beach was small but the sunrise is a wonderful scene.
“good for the price”
The rooms are clean and large with a functional bathroom but he hallways between the rooms are smelly and humid. The beach under the hotel is nice but there were jellyfishes in the water so we couldn't go swim. The swimming pool is nice and clean.
“Pas terrible pour un Millenium”
Cet hotel est plutot mal placé (20 mn en voitures de Georgetown) en bord de route. Il est vieux, un peu sale, pas de trés grande classe et certainement pas digne d'un millenium. En même temps peu d'offres de qualités à Penang donc à choisir si vous n'avez rien de mieux ce qui est fort probable !
“old and rundown”
the hotel was very worn down. the hallway had a large round dent and stain in the hallway. the room was shabby. the couch was filthy and the bathroom was the worst. they left this bath mat for the tub which was covered in old grime. i complained and the desk person said to leave it for the maid the next morning. well i did and she just put it back on the tub in the same condition. we left a day early and treated ourselves to the E&O which is worth every penny! copthorne is not bad if you are looking for a place to stay but don't judge it by western standards or you'll be disappointed.

the room looked shabby and the plumbing was poor and needed attention. the only positive were the staff especially on reception who very pleasant and helpful

There is no internet connection for the room. So much inconvenience.
“Awful Hotel”
I would never go back to this hotel, there is major construction going on 24 hours a day. The rooms were tiny, depressing & dark. The TV had only a couple of channels working only one in English. The service and food was terrible. The general condition of the hotel was dirty and obviously neglected. Our sink was leaking, there was a rat in our room. The pool was filthy, and small, it was never cleaned. In fact we had to shorten our stay there and check out earlier then we had planned. The beach was not easy to access, plus was polluted so you could not swim in the water.
