"An Affordable Slice of Paradise"
The location of this hotel could not have been more perfect-- right in the center of a pedestrian-only section of this beautiful Medieval town. My room faced the other way-- not the main street, so I didn't have the problem with the noise that another reviewer had, and also, I wasn't there on a Saturday night. From my room, I could look out my window and see the cathedral all lit up. On the first floor, outside of the salon (lounge) was a balcony I enjoyed reading a book on for a few hours one afternoon. When I first arrived, I needed the staff's help to solve a problem (I hadn't been able to rent a car and arrived on train, so would not be able to make my next destination), and with my 2.5 years of high school Spanish from 27 years ago, and her little bit of English, she was able to help me cancel my next stop and extend my stay there. She really went above and beyond. My room was not fancy, but it had a bathtub, which I really appreciated. The bed was not comfortable, but not a form of torture either. For my budget, this hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Segovia has a gravel trail around the perimeter of town with a great view of the front of the palace, so bring your running shoes, or just walk it. Then, enjoy a glass of wine in the plaza (it's cheap and the tapas are free) while waiting for the outside of the cathedral to light up. Segovia's narrow streets are a fun maze to get lost in, and in evenings, live music from different outdoor tavernas fill the air.

"In the heart of Segovia just off Mayor Plaza"
I actually stayed one night at the beginning of my work trip, traveled to Bilboa and its surrounds to work and then made a second reservation to stay one more night a few days later rather than staying in Madrid. In fact, if you go to Madrid, make it a point to go stay here for a day or two to jump into some Roman and Medieval history at the same time. Easy to so by fast train. It is a hilly (mountainous) area so be prepared to walk some hills around the village.

"Staying on the Plaza Mayor"
The concept of staying directly on the Plaza Mayor is a mixed blessing. On the one hand, you could see and hear everything that happens on the Plaza from your balcony. On the other hand, you could hear everything that is happening from your room. The parking is another adventure. To get to the hotel requires ignoring a great many traffic signs and parking in front of the hotel. If you chicken out, you will more than likely find yourself wedged into a very small alley. Even if you know your way, small alleys are involved. Once you get there ( if you get there), a driver makes your car disappear and will make it reappear on ten to thirty minutes notice. Overall, a comfortable modern hotel with wifi and ac. Can't beat the location for seeing Segovia. But a trifle noisy ( did I mention the bells) and not a great driving destination

If you stay here make sure to ask at reception where you can legally park the car and the time restrictions involved - our ignorance received a hefty ticket.

"Magnificent modern hotel in a 17 th century shell"
We truly liked the very minimalist , elegant, stylish look of this seventeen century monastery. The spa area with a beautiful navy blue swimming pool lit by hundreds of small white lights from the bottom was very impressive, as well as all the treatment rooms for massage, facial, etc... Their breakfast was the best of all the hotels we stayed, either by their quality or their variety or their presentation.don't miss their chocolate and delicious churros.

"Sleep next to the Acueducto"
We were delighted with our room and view to the Acueducto. Had a great day exploring Segovia with car comfortably parked below the Hotel. We toured both the Segovia Cathedral Tower and also the Alcazar. Could easily spend more than just the one day we had available. We took up the offer of 7 Euro breakfast when checking in and were not disappointed.

"Easy access to the sights"
Missed the car park when we arrived and had to get this sorted at check in but receptionist very helpful. Only niggle was that we couldn't access the wifi in terms of downloading anything at all even though there was a signal. Room was large and comfortable, some smell of cigarettes which I assume came from outside via the Aircon.

"Great place to stay"
What a great place to stay. We stayed in a standard room that whilst not big were certainly comfortable. A lovely hotel set in an old monastery with lots of history. Staff were great, friendly and helpful and on reception spoke perfect English. The hotel was great for parking with plenty of free spaces available in their grounds. Being slightly out of the centre it was quiet and comfortable. The lounge bar area was pleasant to relax in and you could even sit outside in an ancient courtyard that was once part of the monastery. Location was perfect – the walk into centro was wonderful following the aquaduct along its full length with it getting higher and higher. The centre of Segovia was easy to walk around with many wonderful views – what a great place. The restaurant in the hotel was rated No1 on trip advisor – so expectations were high. However I would rate it as good – whilst not outstanding. Like most tourist I tried the suckling pig which they are famous for in Segovia – whilst nice and tender it would have been better if some vegetables or salad was provided with it. All in all this is a great place to stay – we would certainly stay in this hotel again if we have the opportunity to return to Segovia.

Parador de Segovia

"STAY THERE. But it is hard to find. Very."
With directions it took us nearly an hour to find the hotel by car (it is outside and above Segovia); driving through Segovia is not possible (streets cordoned off), the road signage impossible, and the 'ring road' circling Segovia seeming to go in every direction and no direction at the same time. HOWEVER, once we found The Parador it was worth it. The view of the city below the hotel: fantastic. The rooms, facilities, tavern, parking .... all top drawer. The 2 mile walk down to Segovia CAN be done; but it is NOT an attractive walk (alongside a busy highway). We drove down and up. Parking was very difficult but it was a holiday weekend. In Segovia itself we saw few hotels and almost no cars. This confirmed that our choice of The Parador was indeed the right choice. For those on a budget (we were) the Parador Bar has small dishes for dinner at reasonable prices.
