“Out of town but convenient base”

We just stayed at the Novotel Pau Lescar for 3 nights. I chose the hotel due to its described facilities and size. My husband and I were travelling with our 2yr old daughter, and the hotel had a restaurant and enclosed garden area. At first approach, it seemed a bit too close to main roads and commercial area, but this ended up being fine. There's free parking, and we were fortunate to have a room on the garden side vs. road side so noise and the site of cards driving by wasn't an issue. The rooms were a little tired looking but fine and the staff were very good & helpful. There's a small kids play area as part of the lobby, and a great shooping centre across the street, which we visited on our last night for dinner. The hotels' garden also has a pool but it wasn't open yet (sadly given the warm April weather!) and the lawn could have used a mowing -we didn't end up using it, but defintely made for a nice atmosphere when having a meal in the dinning room. Would efinitely recommend for families traveling with young children or as a short stop for others (also only 15mins from airport -located west of town)

“Good stop-over point”

Up to the expected Novotel standard. Lovely large, secluded, sheltered garden despite being surrounded by shopping mall. Aircon was ineffective but room was clean, well-appointed. Restaurant good - reasonably priced.

“Very disappointed”

The staff were excellent but must suffer endless complaints regarding the hotels air conditioning which cannot be regulated within individual rooms.
