“Joy in the heart of Peu”

We had never been to Pau and did not really know what to expect. We chose this hotel online and crossed our fingers. We were really happy with the results. This hotel is in a great location. We parked our car in the free parking lot, and did not drive it again until we checked out three days later. We could walk to everything we wanted to see. The Hotel Roncevaux is located right in the heart of the shopping and restaurant district. It offers a cozy bar at night, and breakfast in the morning, but it is so close to so many other restaurants we only sat at the hotel bar one night, and never did have breakfast there. Too many other options beckoned. The hotel is friendly, quiet, very comfortable, and very welcoming. The staff was great. The rooms were larger than I expected, and the amenities were all the customary ones.

“Great location.”

This is a very nice hotel right in the older part of Pau, close to the castle and restaurants. Onsite parking very useful, rooms on the small side as expected in France. Staff very friendly and helpful.

“Old fashion hotel”

My husband and I are in our 60's and we both take our computers with us. It was very difficult to read because the lights were very dim. We opened the window to get extra light on the room. The entire room is all pine to look like a chalet which adds to the dimming effect.
