Hôtel propre, confortable et bien placé; très satisfaite

“Victoria Garden stay”

A huge studio room - large double bed, kitchenette with fridge, 2 ring stove and a grill/microwave (?), large bathroom with shower over bath. Bed was comfortable, room was very clean and warm. Wifi access was offered free. Staff friendly and helpful. Lift useful as I had luggage. Parking spaces are quite narrow and if the place were full, I'd imagine parking could be tricky. The Leclerc hypermarket with several shops, cafés, restaurants and a cinema complex is in walking distance, as is the university. A very pleasant one night stay - I would definitely stay here again.

Bon accueil et vaste chambre avec bien deux lits jumeaux comme demandé lors de ma réservation. Literie confortable et propreté de l'appartement. RAS. Je réserverai à nouveau auprès du groupe appart hotel. Positif: très proche d'un gros centre commercial et de l'autoroute, promotion sur le tarif. Négatif: un peu loin du centre ville mais on ne peut pas tout avoir, et en deux-roues on n'est pas gêné pour se garer.

The place was nice for the price. It was far from the center, but it was close to the university, and this was my first concern.

“Manage your expectations”

Overall we had a comfortable short stay, but we would look for somewhere a little smarter next time. Hotel easy to find, on outskirts of Pau. Parking easy next to hotel. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Accomodation is designed for students, and next to another block of student accomodation. Despite this it was reasonably quiet (apart from noisy lift). Decor of room was 'tired' (damp in two places and carpet scuffed and stained). Self catering kitchenette basic, clean and adequately resourced. Bathroom adequate but pipework behind sink looked scruffy/dirty. A sign says the room is cleaned weekly but we were given fresh towels daily.

C'est un bon hôtel, bien situé avec commerces et cinéma à proximité. Je pense y revenir si j'ai l'occasion de passer par là.

Lorsque nous sommes arrivés à l’hôtel , il était fermé exceptionnellement ce jour là alors que nous avions réservé. j'ai téléphoné à expédia, une personne m'a répondu en me disant qu'elle n'avait pas mon nom d'enregistré et qu'il ne pouvait pas me donner la chambre, d'autres personnes sont arrivés avec le même problème que le mien, nous avons encore téléphoné, et en insistant très lourdement, ils nous ont donné le code pour rentrer dans l’hôtel. De plus la chambre avait des odeurs de tabac froid ainsi que des tâches sur la moquette et les coussins des fauteuils, le revêtement de la baignoire se décollait avec l'humidité, bref très passable. Par contre la chambre était assez grande et très fonctionnelle avec la kitchenette.

“Last resort”

This hotel is very much like a youth hostel. The kitchenette was useful, although it had no mugs. The bed was just a piece of foam and was very uncomfortable. There were also some dubious stains on the throw. Overall, very basic accommodation and a 2 mile walk into town. It's handy for Pau airport, but definitely as a last resort only.
