“This was our home away from home for 9 days, and well worth the money we paid.”

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel or this city. It is the heart of the Artois region and a great place to make your home if you are touring the nearby battlefields, cemeteries, Vimy Ridge and the Opal Coast. Lots of wonderful local foods and the people in this region are extremely friendly. Many of them speak bits of English but are more than happy to help you with any attempts at French. We will not hesitate to go back to this region if the opportunity presents itself and would definitely stay at Hotel d'Angleterre.

“Big rooms, beautifully decorated...”

Very clean hotel, beautifully decorated, rooms are quite large by France standards, good sized bathroom. Decent breakfast, not included in the room price. Our front side room overlooked a nice town fountain, and the railroad station. Great restaurants nearby. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

“Hotel Angleterre”

While the hotel was pretty, the staff was not very helpful. Parking was down the street underground and instructions on checking into it were confusing. Since we arrived late in evening no place in front of hotel to unload bags. Then room was incorrect with only 1 bed although we had requested 2 and asked to confirm at desk; so we were moved to larger suite that was nice. Although very few plugins and all on baseboards; curlings irons etc hard to manage. Next day they moved all of our stuff without notifying us until we returned late in the day to another room! And the night clerk claimed not to understand English when we expressed our concerns since our stuff had been out and about in the room somewhat. Hotel is directly across from train station so a little noisy. It is a fairly nice hotel, clean and good room but NOT a 4 star hotel as claimed.
