“Amazing & Beautiful Resort!!!”
This place was absolutely beautiful! First of all, we booked a regular room, and when we got there they had upgraded us to the amazing 2 bedroom suite!! Our own huge bamboo bungalow, and then they brought us tropical frozen drinks by the pool. The beach is gorgeous and there is literally NO ONE on the beach...its like your own private dark sand beach. And on top of it being so beautiful, its completely eco-friendly! I don't think you'll find a better place to stay! Oh, and the staff is wonderful...the most cheerful people around!
“Remote & Rustic with great service”
The people and service was great. We were there in off season and they were "busy" with three couples including us. The suite was not AC though the actual sleeping bedroom was. Biggest down side was the $50-$60 cab ride from Jaco each way. Make sure you rent a car, this place is about 10 miles past Parrita on a rather bad dirt road.
“Go for the beach, not for the amenities”
The view and the access to the almost desolate beach is worth putting up with the shortcomings of the hotel.
“Nightmare gone wrong at the get go.........”
We first arrived in the late afternoon on a pot hole road off the main paved road with no signage anywhere for the hotel. When we "checked in" the women said you are staying 2 night ? Our upgraded Villa was mold smelling with fungus on all the kitchen, bedroom and living room. The Resort they say was under construction and looked like it had been for years. It must of been nice at one time but not now. Our dinner was a $ 100.00 for 2 people that was ok at best, not worth the money. The next morning after we had to find somebody to make coffee- we couldn't wait to get out of Timarai Bamboo Resort. Please don't even think about going there, stay on the main road to to Manual Antonio.
“BAD EXPERIENCE”
Pros- *Beach front resort *friendly people *reasonable rates Cons- -no internet -no phone in room -no cable -MILDEW STAINED BEDDING and AWFUL SMELL -no power/water -hard to find on 4 mile dirt road When we arrived the "resort" was under construction and we were told that they were not expecting us. They were accomidating and prepared a room and dinner for us. We had to use a flashlight due to lack of lighting. The next day we were told by owner that the "resort" would be fully functional when we retuned that evening, not the case. Very friendly people but could not make up for disgusting conditions, lack of amenities and broken promises. bottom line- TRAVELER BEWARE!!!
“sevice”
after having to search for someone to check us in, we were severly dissappointed with the quality of the room. I'm not sure if they are ever cleaned. The service in the restaurant was no better, waiting for 20 minutes and we were only one of two tables in the restaurant. I do not recommend this hotel.
