“great hotel in central paris”

great hotel, good location not far from champs elysees and far greater value than the hotels one block of the champs elysees excellent large rooms, free internet as an avid traveller, i wd rate this hotel as one of my better stays definitely reccommend, the night duty staff is a bit grouchy though

“I'll stay here again next time”

Classic European hotel (small rooms but clean). Breakfast was poor and not impressive. The location is excellent, and very close to the Metro and the Green bus tour stop (best tour service in Paris). Other recommendations: go to the Colibri restaurant next to the Madeline and the close to the hotel (excellent onion soup! and very resonable prices).

“Charming hotel in a very nice part of town”

I just spent a week at the most charming Parisian hotel near the fine shops, close to the tube, great little food places, and the nicest French people. The location does not get any better -- this hotel houses the Burberry retail clothing store (where I bought a few scarves). I walked everywhere, and only used the tube if the distance was greater than 2 miles; thus, able to have a good sense of the neighborhood. Definitely recommend this hotel. The room was small and what you can expect for Paris, but it was very well maintained with high end decor. The bathroom was pretty modern with a square toilet and a shower where water came directly from the ceiling (first I've seen this). Beware the room service is not like something you find in LA or NY, so expect to eat out all meals except for breakfast. The continental breakfast for 20 euros was decent with fresh juice. I have stayed in Paris before and think this was the best deal for the price and superb location.

“Convenient location”

We stayed for three nights to introduce our 14 year-old daughter to Paris. The hotel was convenient in being within walking distance of a number of museums and other places to visit, close to one of the hop-on-off bus tours and to the metro. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms well done and modern, but they are small. Probably on the expensive side given the room sizes, but we would happily stay there again.

“Excellent hotel”

The Waldorf Madeleine is a small hotel b y USA standards, but we were very impressed with the room the hotel gave us when we checked in, as by French hotel standards, it was really quite roomy. We also had a view of the Eiffel Tower from our room. The hotel is situated a short walk from the neatest Metro station which made it a great base for exploring this wonderful city. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and while the hotel does not have a restaurant for dinner, the front desk can help with making dinner reservations or will offer suggestions. My only complaint would be the cost, but again, this is not out of line by Paris standards, so I would not hesitate to stay there again should the need arise. Also, on one night there was a strong smell of cigarettes coming from another room and pervading ours. Either all the rooms on our floor were not non-smoking or someone was smoking anyway. The rest of the time there was no problem.

“Great Hotel!!”

Everyone was so helpful and nice. We were early and they checked us in and gave us our room n-e-ways. Plus we got a great map at the front desk and save us from getting lost, and show up the quickest way to get to places. Everything was close by just like the other reviews said. The room was very nice and clean. Overall great place to stay in Paris :)

“Good location but”

The location is really good. walking distance to the places you want to see. You can take the rossy shuttle from the airport for 10 less than Euros if you don't want to pay 50 for the cab. But remember the start rating of the hotels in Paris is different from everywhere else. The room is really tiny and old.
