“Clean, Tidy and good location.”
The hotel was actually a lot closer to the city centre than we first realised, the mistake we made was to turn left out of the hotel and go towards the Arc d'Triomphe rather than going right up Ru de Rome which takes you directly to the train station and printemps in around 20mins (casual pace). Staff were very helpful and the general feel was just nice. Highly recommended
“A lovely hotel in a great location”
The hotel was very nice and very clean and very well maintained. The bathrooms were nice and big. The staff was courteous and very helpful. The location was very good.
“such a releif, Will return again and again.”
Safe, wonderful neighborhood, safe Hotel. We found our room to be amazingly clean, and the hotel is very gratuitous with shampoos nail files ect. I left my laptop and spare cameras out on in my room and did not worry about locking anything up for 8 days. We left 2 euros a day tip for the cleaning staff (1 euro is normal) and the cleaning lady would leave little thank you notes. From other reveiws I was worried about the location and the pictures looked fake. The pictures are very accurate and the location is great. Point Cardinet station is right across the street. From there you can take the train to Gare St. Lazarre station after a quick 5 minute ride. Paris is a city- is there will be street noise anywhere, but the walls are covered in acoustic wallpaper and we found the hotel very quiet. We never heard our neighbors. There are numerous bakeries, shops, and produce stands near by. We could have spent the week exploring the neighborhood, don't be afraid to venture in any direction. Don't let the maps fool you, this hotel is not far from anything. We walked from the hotel to the arch de triumph at a leasurly pace in under 20 minutes. Wireless internet is available through ORANGE. I had great internet speed.
“Nice hotel and location.”
Just like other reviews on this site I booked this hotel under the "4 star hotel for 2 star price" without knowing the hotel first. After booking the room and finding out the hotel name I did just like everybody else does--read the reviews on the internet. After reading some of the negative reviews about this hotel I was horrified and worried I had made a mistake but went along with it anyway since there were no refunds and I had booked 4 nights. After spending 4 nights there this is my honest opinion --- Disregard all the negative reviews you read about this hotel. This is a nice hotel. I had a 7th floor room with a balcony overlooking the train station. The hotel is older but NOT rundown. The rooms are a little small but that is what most are like in Paris. The location is perfect. Many, many cafes, groceries, taxi stops, train station within blocks. It is only a 20-30 minute easy walk to the Louvre or Eiffel Tower. The hotel staff are nice and helpful plus they speak english. There is plenty of hot water. We took long showers and never ran out. We never had anything stolen from the room. Some people stated you had to leave your room key at the desk when you went out. This is not true. You keep your room key with you the whole time. There was also somebody at the front desk 24hrs a day. This is a great hotel for the price so don't let the negative reviews get you woriedd about this hotel like it did me. You will not be disappointed by staying here.
“Would definitely stay again”
This is an excellent hotel located within easy walking distance of the metro and some tourist sights. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff very helpful. Although located on a main road the room was quiet and we were impressed with all hotel facilities. If you are looking for a hotel with character and charm, I would highly recommend the Villa Eugenie.
“May return someday”
Everything was great, except for the shower above that leaked into our bathroom.
“Paris Charm - Villa Eugenie”
This was old charm Europe. You left you key with the deskclerk when you left and picked it back up when you returned. Close to transportation of all kinds. Small grocery store next door for fruits, water anything you need. Pastry shops, cafes, laundry's, atm machine all within the block. Loved the place. Only negative was you could not get internet in your room only in the lobby. But really you are there on vacation so why would you even be on the internet. Will stay there the next time we go to Paris.
“nice experience”
good location and hotel. across the street from suburban-line subway, and about 10 minute walk to Metro subway. next to a convenience store, cafes and restaurants, with things to do. clean hotel with nice staff.
“Perfect for a night”
I spent only one night at the hotel. It was ideal for my needs. The room was the typical size of a Paris hotel. The staff was friendly and the metro is only 500m away. The only complaint would be the noise. It is located on a busy street and if the windows are open it will be loud.
“Small cossy rooms”
A bit of an issue with the bathroom and teh bathroom door. Shower was not adjustable enough for a 4* requirement. The bathroom door was stained from a previous flooding. Otherwise fine.
