“nice little hotel”

Nice little hotel front desk mostly helpful and friendly . Internet was terrible and only down in the lobby . Room was nice and basic but clean and the location was close to everything . Great area and the morning street vendors were great ! You can walk to the Arc de Triumph and 5 minute walk to Metro 2 (ternes) station . I would recommend it !

“Nice for the price”

The hotel staff was very friendly and they all spoke English. The rooms were big enough and clean. I was happily surprised to see that they had a normal shower as there was a reviewer online that said they were disgusted by the shower that they had. We had a room on the basement floor which was fine because it was very quiet. There is a metro stop literally one block from the hotel (Ternes). OH, but I must warn you that initially finding the hotel was hard. If you decide to book here... if you get off at the Ternes metro stop (off of the 2) then you end up in a little square in the middle of everything (or if you make a right at the exit underneath you can take it to the right side where you need to be on without crossing the street). Anyway, choose the street with the HSBC on the corner... go down that street and make your first right (Dada cafe is there). Then make your first left (down the street where all of the farmer's market items are being sold if you're there early enough). Go down and then you'll see it on the right (another street). Hopefully this helps everyone. The only real downside to the hotel was that in order to use their wifi you have to stay in the lobby (but the rooms are very close by so it's not a huge deal). Their wifi is pretty crappy but it works and gets the job done so I'm not gonna complain too much! Also -- get your shopping done early. Most food/shops close around 7-8 pm. There is a pizza hut that is open until 11 though. Staff gave us #

Area recommendations
Our neighborhood was pretty nice (a lot of rich shops, too). If you have more money to spend getting a hotel right near the Arc or Eiffel Tower might be nicer. 16/17th districts are very nice though and the metro gets you anywhere so you don't have to worry about transportation.
When to go
October was a great month to go to Paris! Nice and warm and it only rained for a few hours on one of the days that we were there!
Dining
Monoprix -- if you want a quick stop to a grocery store. Hippopatomus -- awesome chain dining experience in Paris

“Paris is Great”

Aside from beds being very uncomfortable, rooms were small but clean. Would not recommend their breakfast fare. Try one of the cafe's on a nearby street. Surrounding neighborhood was very nice.

Getting around
Be sure to order a Paris Pass before leaving and have it sent to your home. Definitely made getting to museums and historic sites much easier and cost effective. Metro is very easy to use.

““We regret to have booked this hotel and will never return there ever again.””

booked this hotel via Internet, thinking that it is going to be an amazing hotel since it's four star. However, I was completely wrong. How can it be a four star hotel when basic amenities such as air condition is not provided and that it looks old and falling apart? The worst is the room that my room that we cannot open the window because it was situated on top of the main entrance, where most people smoke. So all the smoke went into our room if we opened the windows, even just for few minutes. In addition to the drama, the third night during our stay, they didn't even replenish the toilet paper. The only positive and strength about this hotel is the location. It is located few minutes to public transits. Very convenient.

“Not Impressed”

Not impressed, although a couple of the concierge were actually friendly and helpful. The decor was somewhat charming, but not new. Bed was hard and lumpy, too low to the floor. Heavy blankets and bedspreads for the time of year. You won't get fresh towels and linens each day; excuse about ecological concerns. Room was suited for one person, not two. No air conditioning. Bathroom sink smelled bad. Young people party loud in neighboring apartments, garbage truck loud and early in the a.m., food market trucks around corner loud in early a.m., people yelling. We averaged about four hours sleep each night. At checkout we were charged high taxes per person per each night's stay! Breakfast was expensive, food was not that good, scrambled eggs were awful. Not worth the price we paid. This is not a four-star hotel, a three-star hotel is more like it - and only if they replace the beds!

“Nice hotel”

The people at the front desk were always very polite. The room was small but clean. I already knew the air conditioner wasn't working from reading the latest reviews here, but we were given two fans right away and they kept the room cool. It is a quiet neighborhood and we did have a hard time finding the hotel the first day (we had taken the metro from the airport) and the hotel is not on a main street. Definitely get your breakfast from the market which is one street down. The hotel is nice and close to the metro so it is easy to get anywhere in Paris. The blow dryer was very strange and got very hot so I didn't use it but that is the only thing that wasn't great. We had asked to use an iron but it was never available -- I guess they only have one. But overall, we were very satisfied and would go back to this hotel.

“Cute Hotel with lovely neighborhood market”

The hotel was somewhat difficult to find once getting off the metro. My traveling party really didn't speak or read French, so that could have been why it was challenging. The hotel is located in a mini-cul-de-sac part of the street (so off the main roads). It was tucked into the middle of a small neighborhood outdoor market, which was wonderful to see (and smell!) each morning. The local shops were amazing, and the pastries stores so yummy! While finding the hotel was an adventure, once we figured out how to navigate the streets, finding all the attractions was simple. Most attractions are very close; though I would recommend using the metro as that is a great way to get from one area to the other. The hotel itself reminded me of a bed and breakfast. From an American standpoint, the room was smaller and with fewer "perks" than in a standard American room. BUT THIS IS IN FRANCE! So why expect American accommedations! The room reminded me of my bedroom back in the midwest. The windows are very large allowing for a nice breeze to come into the room. The staff was wonderful. There was one staff person who was very "business like", but overall, they were extremely helpful. Often times, they would help us make reservations since none of us spoke French. Personally, this is the only hotel I would choose to stay in if I were to go back.

Area recommendations
1. Go around to the street on the left side of the "White Church" (when looking from the top of all those stairs). There is an outdoor art gallery where you can get your picture painted/drawn. 2. Versillas IS HUGE! Wear good walking shoes, take water, and plan the entire day for here alone. It is a wonderful tourist site with lovely history. 3. Outdoor marketplace near the Villa Alessandra hotel. 4. Drink some wine and eat some bread along the Seine river... its the thing to do.
When to go
We travelled the last week in June-the first week in July. The weather was gorgeous and very cooperative!
Getting around
The metro system is very convenient and easy, once you figure out how to read the maps! Most stops will have the major attractions for you to know when to get off, but connecting trains can be tricky until you figure out the maps. The metro was very fast and very effective. During "rush hours" it get's packed! Be prepared to ignore social proximity norms as you will be crammed in with other people. Be brave and assertive when getting onto the trains during these times. Also, do be wary of pickpockets (we had one issue however there was a very friendly Frenchman who yelled at the person before it got ugly!) Also, be mindful when out at night that the trains do have an ending time...so you might be walking home if it gets too late. We didn't use the taxis at all, but heard that the prices can be kinda ridiculus. We used the metro the whole time. If you are going to be there for awhile, invest in a metro pass for the length of your stay so you dont have to buy a new ticket each time.
