“Parisian Style place to lay your head!”
The first thing I have to say about this place is the fact the staff was very friendly and helpful. I wanted to stay in a place where I wasnt going to feel like I wasn't in the states! This hotel is in a decent location CLOSE to many metro stations and GREAT bars/Restaurants!!!! The hotel has 247 front desk personel and a nice rest area. If you want something fancy this is NOT the hotel for you... but if your looking for a great experience, and a comfy bed to lay your head after a day of sight seeing in a beautiful city... This is the hotel for you!
“super”
the staff was friendly. located right next to the metro station and in a fun neighborhood. complementary breakfast was great and there were plenty of food. the room was comfortable and had a nice balcony view. the only problems: the shower door didnt close so the floor got all wet and the sink drained slowly so that was kinda gross. However overall an A hotel for the price.
“Good price, comfy room.”
Perfect place to stay if you're on a budget. The hotel was about a 20 min. walk to a lot of the big stuff (Louvre, Place de Concorde, Madeleine, etc.), and a really quick subway ride if you don't feel like walking. There are lots of places to grab food (the tavern right around the corner is good and relatively cheap) or a drink. As for the room itself, it was very clean, albeit basic. Housecleaning made the bed everyday and changed the towels. The travelers in the next room were really obnoxious though, and the walls weren't very sound proof. However, I wasn't really surprised by this, kind of comes with the 2-star hotel territory. The receptionist was great, very friendly and helpful. Overall a good stay. I plan on staying there again next time I'm in Paris.
“Perfect”
This was a perfect place to stay for an affordable alternative, with all the basic comforts and amenities but obviously without any luxuries. The staff was professional and helpful (with good english), and the location was good too, right in front of a metro stop.
“Good deal, good location”
I stayed only a single night and, tho travelling on my own, was given a double room on a top floor with a bathtub when I requested one. I really appreciated the flexibility. It never hurts to ask esp. when solo travellers are often treated as second or third class citizens! The hotel is on a side street, but gets all the traffic noise from the Place de Clichy. Fortunately, the double-paned windows block most of this out and it was not a hot. humid night. This is all pretty standard for Paris for hotels of this class, I think. The breakfast was a nice bonus- croissant, baguette, juice, coff/tea, and yogourt in a pleasant little room. (I appreciate this now as I decided I cant stand the French equivalent of what N. Americans -and other Europeans- expect when they order a cafe au lait. In France, you get a "creme" in which plasticky tasting UHF milk is used instead of proper fresh milk. A tip: try ordering an allongee with a side of fresh milk or just pay the extra for a cappuccino. ) The hotel was very convenient to two metro stops- Blanche and Clichy. All in all, for the rate Expedia charged and the actual room I was given, I would definitely consider staying at the Modern again!
“Good modest hotel”
If you want decent modest accomodations at a reasonable price this hotel is a good choice. It is a good location, close to the Clichy Metro station, and has a nice bread/croissant/butter/jam/coffee/tea breakfast. There is an interesting mix of Europeans at this hotel. If you are particular, demanding, or want luxury, look elsewhere.
“Good rate and good stay”
The hotel was comfortable, and in good contitions. We consider that for the rate we paid we had a very good deal. We are all satisfied. Easy access to public transportation, although really close to the red zone. We would use this hotel again
“Pretty Good Budjet Hotel”
This is a nice clean hotel, close to lots of relativly cheap restaurants/cafes, metro and moulin rouge. It had everything needed for a short stay, good for students or anyone on a budget. Reception staff spoke good english and made it possible for us to leave our bags on arrival before check in. Basic breakfast with good service. The room was cleaned everyday and had everything that we needed but the view left something to be desired. The heating in the rooms was very good even when snowing outside!
“Hotel did great - but the other guests....”
i liked this hotel and would give it a try again. It was a great price and location staff was very polite. Unfortunately wals are thin and when the couple in the next room decides to argue you feel part of it. bad luck on my part, and I don't blame the hotel, but know that at these prices you might get a young couple who just doesn't get it yet. By the way I liked the energy of the neighbourhood, but some might not be prepared for all it offers. Across the street is also a cheap eats restaurant called flunch. It is a chain, and basic, but good value and healthier then other chain food places. For Paris - this saved the budget!
“good bargain”
Close to two metro station, quiet and safe area, and it offers what a 2 star hotel can offer.
