“Lovely hotel with great views”

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the staff were very friendly and the service couldn't be faulted. We also had a great room with wonderful views which really made our stay in Paris extra special.

“Very Impressive, highly recommended”

On reading the reviews the hotel had a lot to live up to, and it did so in some style. The staff are extremely friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. This was particularly in evidence when Farooq (a credit to his job), the head of concierge, contacted a booking agency on my behalf for a voucher that was meant to have been sent by an agency to my hotmail account for a trip I had booked a few days earlier. Within 15 minutes the voucher had been e-mailed to the hotel. I only wish that I had booked the trip in the first place with the hotel. The hotel itself was in an excellent location for the tourist sights with the Arc/Champs Elysees a stones throw away, and Charles de Gaulle etoile station. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade (without asking) and our room was a very good size with a double balcony and view of the Arc. It was modern and very clean. The breakfast was very good (included in the deal)however as an alternative there is a mini supermarket within a minutes walk and a couple of good cafes nearby. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel, I have previously stayed at a deluxe hotel in the centre of Paris, and although being considerably more expensive was not a patch on the Splendid Etoile.

“Ridiculously average hotel”

Althought we had an enjoyable stay in Paris, this was mainly due to the beautiful city rather than the hotel! I would describe the Hotel Splendid Etoile as average, we ended up in a twin rather than a double room (annoying, but not the end of the world) - however the spoiler for me was that the room smelt very strongly of cigarettes (A parisian hazard - but not what you expect in your bedroom!). Location wise this hotel is great - however I wouldn't describe the hotel as good value for money.
