“Wonderful Hotel”
Great Place to stay if you don't mind being out of the "tourist area". Hotel is very affordable, located in Business area of Paris. Downtown Paris is 10 minutes by train. Metro is about a 5 minute walk from hotel, faster depending on your pace. Area was quiet but safe at night. We came in late each night and encountered no problems. (If by yourself, you may want to be careful though) The room was very comfortable. The bed was soft and plush. Robes, slippers and water are complimentary. Hotel staff was extremely helpful. They all spoke english. The hotel has 2 restaurants that I was too busy to enjoy, but the ambiance looked great. Sofitel Paris la Defense is one of the best hotels that I have visited. Will definitely stay there again.
“excellent stay”
A really great hotel, in a surprisingly pleasant area. For those who are happy to use the metro, I would recommend it. While the website is not forthcoming, it is fairly easy to get to by first travelling on the RER B from Charles De Gaulle to Chatelet Les Halles then changing for the metro 1 line to esplande de la defence. Lovely hotel, big room, very comfortable beds. The down sides are that nothing in the area was open on the weekends, but we did not intend to eat in the area anyway. Easy metro links to the rest of the city make it very convinient, and it was extremely quiet. Not the greatest view out of the window, but who cares?
“Good hotel, but ....”
I can't fault the hotel, the room or the service - the only "issue" with it is the location. The area outside was very quiet and I would have been concerned getting there in the dark as a lone female traveller. I knew this was a possibility as La Defense is a business area, but I didn't realise how far it was from the metro station and quite how desolate this area can be at the weekend. I think the hotel is probably best suited to business travellers or couples looking for a good place away from it all.

Great conditions, fabulous room and bathroom, great views, close to whatver you need, therfore really, really imppresed. Extremely recommended...
“Extremely Satisfied”
We loved our stay at the Sofitel. The hotel was beautiful, all of the staff was extremely helpful, and the room was comfortable. We stayed there with our 3 year old daughter and had no problems. Although the hotel rooms are listed as only having a shower, we had both a shower and bath tub in our room (junior suite). This may be the first hotel we have ever stayed at where we had no complaints!
“Fantastic Hotel”
There were several reasons why we enjoyed our stay at Sofitel: - Our room was comfortable and very clean. - The staff was extremely professional, caring, and helpful. - The location was convenient to a large shopping center and a metro station. To get to the popular tourist attractions would take about 20 minutes on the metro. - The price point was very competitive compared to other 4 or 5 star hotels located close to the tourist attractions. - We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the restaurant.
“Convenient location”
Although located in the Paris equivalent of Wall Street, the Metro station is a few steps away. The Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower are visible from the square in front of the hotel. Champs Elysee is only a few metro stops away. The only drawback is the lack of food options after hours. This doesn't matter b/c you'll probably be downtown anyway.
