“Great Location”
A little bit noisy (an other room was under repairment...starting very early) with the difference in time it was uncomfortable. Wireless internet did not work. Check in time is very inconvenient (4PM). We arrived to Paris early morning. It was very inconvenient to walk arround Champs E. ...with our luggage. The apartment is fine for the price, around the corner you can find good and convenient shop that increase the Paris experience. It would be a good idea to add a welcome package the business (and working schedules) of the area that can be helpful. Sunday everything closes.
“Great location, but not impressed with the amenitites”
The apartment is situated in a great location. It is within walking distance to the metro, the local open markets, bakeries, and shops. The two bedroom apartment we had was fairly clean and spacious. However, I was expecting more for the price. The bath tub/shower was raised so high off the ground that I was very worried about slipping and falling out of the tub. I would not recommend this to anyone who has a weak back and legs. We had a 5 night stay and our room was on the 5th floor. Through our entire stay, the elevator was out of service. It was a painful experience to lug our big suitcases up the small, spiral, and dirty stair case. Trust me, after a long day of chasing the metros and walking for hours to get from one place to another in Paris, you would feel the pain of having to deal with another climb of 5 flights of stairs. This was the biggest disappoinment of our stay! Don't think we will come back.
“Great place, great location”
We decided to spend our 25th wedding anniversary in Paris. Not having anyone to take care of our 2 teenage boys, they came along. We decided Villa Daubenton because of its apartment layout. Two rooms was the only option. The staff was more than helpful. They provided info on everything from Metro use to the best time to go to Versailles. They also spoke really good English and helped us with pronunciation of our mediocre French. The location was excellent. Two blocks from the Metro. 1 1/2 blocks from the Moufettard market. On a quiet side street very secure area with an elementary school across the street. Starbucks is only 2 blocks away, but don't forget to walk by the Patiserie for some excellent almond croissants!!! We could not have had a more excellent experience. The hotel is simple and neat. If you are looking for opulence or fancy-schmancy digs...stay of the Champs Ellyses with the Kardashians!!! If you are looking for a nice, quaint, relatively expensive and reasonable accomodations, Villa Daubenton may just be the place.
“Good value, friendly service and central location”
We had a large two bedroom unit with a kitchenette within 5 minutes of a great outdoor market - fresh fruit, vegetables and bread available from 7am onwards. The room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to all of the major tourist sites. Slightly noisy at night if you leave the windows open, but not so that you can't sleep. Ideal spot for a family from young kids to teens.
“Would stay there again”
This is a limited service hotel, with kitchenettes in room. Good English spoken. Did not try their breakfasts. Wish we had known the nearest Metro station before we went - either Daubenton or Port Royal. Does not take credit cards. Located within walking distance of old town/university/plenty of affordable eating etc.
“Great value for the money!”
Nice hotel. Location was a little hard to find but the hotel was excellent; excellent room with small kitchen; staff very courteous and helpful. Will definitely stay there again!
“Nightmare in Paris”
We spent nine nights at Vile Daubenton in Paris. We always pick a "apart hotel" because is very convenient. This apart hotel was suggested by Expedia. The hotel has a good location and near a wonderful french market where you can buy french fruits, cheeses, wine, etc. The room has a good size with a kitchen and bathroom. However, do not expect anything else. The front desk staff is not willing to help you besides keeping your room key. They can even be rude if you request an internet access(with it is included in the amenities list) but works very badly and only if you pay a lot of money. At our arrival, the telephone at the room did not work and was taped to the outlet, by the way, none of the outlets hold the plugs very well. It is a nightmare to recharge anything. Don't try to ask any help from the front desk when the french african guy is working at night. He is always busy surfing the internet and will tell you: " This is France, not America.." We also had the opportunity to "meet" French bugs in the bathroom floor at night. They crawled all over the floor. To be honest, we still don't know their names. If you are a couple, whoever takes the first shower is the lucky one, the second has to wait 30/40 minutes to have hot water. Additionally, the shower was hand-held because the shower holder was broken. Don't ask to fix it. They won't .We do not recommend this hotel to anyone with minimal taste. Expedia should remove this hotel for their list immediately.
“Nice appartments”
Good location- close enough to Latin Quarter nice places but far enough to sleep well at night, spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen, etc.
