“Cute family-friendly hotel in a great location in Paris”

My wife and I stayed here with our two children. (This is one of the few hotels we could find that allowed four people per room.) Our room was clean and nice and the service was friendly and helpful. The room was on the third floor. We only used the elevator once. The location was exceptionally good. We would go back!

“Hidden Gem”

This hotel really is a hidden gem in a great location. Surrounded by outdoor cafes and close to the Sienne, it is a perfect home-base for walking tours, dining and shopping. On the minus side, it was very hard to find, parking is a ways away and driving in the area is not for the feint of heart. You're likely to arrive frustrated, but once you get settled you'll be happy you made the effort. Our room was large and well appointed with a huge bathroom and surprise kitchenette. The lights in the hallways are on timers so you'll have to look for the switches and the elevator is the size of an Ikea bookcase - seriously. Overall, we really liked it and the price was great value.

“Great location for home base in Latin Quarter/Saint Germain”

As with most places we have stayed in Europe, location is key. The Residence Des Arts is no exception. The location can't be beat - right in the heart of the Latin Quarter and a short walk to the wonderful shopping in Saint Germain. Right across the river from Ile de Cite and Notre Dame Cathedral. And a metro station right around the corner. Our room was the largest they had (to accomodate our family of four) and very spacious. It was a bit beaten up, but fairly comfortable. Had a surprisingly big bathroom for a european hotel and a kitchenette that was a bit shabby (didn't use it very much other than the fridge). The woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful, and accomodated our early check-in.

When to go
I don't think we will ever go back to Europe in the summertime (ie. peak of tourist season). The line-ups for the major tourist attractions were atrocious - we had planned on going up the Eiffel Tower but based on the 2-hour line up, admired it from below instead (ditto for the Arc de Triomphe). We muscled our way through the Louvre, but were only able to "admire" the Mona Lisa from about 15 metres away as we couldn't make our way through the throngs of tourists snapping pictures. I have been to Paris in late September before on business, and fell in love with the city then. Beautiful weather, amazing sites, incredible food... and no tourists.

“A great experience”

The hotel is in a very good location. We are able to walk to many attrations. The area around the hotel was very nice. The staff were very attentive and very helpful. The best part was that there is a small kitchen in the room so we are able to buy drinks, fruits, etc. The room was not grand, but it is very functional with a really nice bathroom. We will stay there again for our next trip to Paris.

“Superb hotel”

We loved this hotel - very centrally located in Place St Michel and near the metro, Notre Dame, the Louvre. The staff was wonderful - very helpful with everything we asked. Our room, a junior suite,Susan was very nice and very roomy with a small kitchenettes and lovely bathroom. I would highly recommend it to everyone. We loved our stay there

“Fantastic Location”

The hotel is in a great location surrounded by restaurants and one block from the River Seine and three to four blocks from Norte Dam. It was a cute and clean boutique room. The neighborhood is lively and a bit noisy on a Saturday night, but it sounded like fun. We were just too tired after an overnight flight to join in. The hotel service was cheerful and responsive. We had a fabulous trip to Paris.

“Good "Latin Quarter" location.”

I have always stayed in the Latin Quarter because of the amount of people and nightlife. Area is safe at night because of all the lights and people. This is the first time that I stayed at this hotel. The reception is located directly accross the street in a "Sister Property". The room was the standard smaller size for this area, but the bathroom was large with a full shower, something that I am comfortable with as a US citizen. Elevator is small, so not for the clostrophobic. Good value for area. I recomend this hotel for the price range.

Area recommendations
I recomend the Latin Quarter for night time fun. Safer than most areas in Paris at night.

“Good hotel. Great location.”

We are frequent business and lesiure travellers based in Asia and used to the 5-star service and hotels there. When travelling outside Asia we know to moderate our expectations. We found the hotel through Expedia and from travel reviews. We arrived very early in the morning and a room was immediately available. Room was not really an apartment as we had expected, rather a slightly larger hotel room than the norm for Paris. Staff were very helpful, friendly and spoke good English. Room was clean and well serviced every day. Bathrooms are typically small for Paris but clean with all necessities. Wireless Internat access was free with log-on details/password available from the reception. We did not try the hotel breakfast as there were so many outside options. Location is fantastic. Easy walking distance to major atractions and 1 minute from metro station. St Michael is a great area, very popular with many restaurants and small shops. The rooms can be affected by noise, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, but if you are looking for peace amd quite, don't stay in the St Michael area. Compared to other boutique hotels in Paris we have stayed in it compares very well. Great place for visitors and couples looking for a Paris getaway for anything from 1 - 5 days.

“Can't wait to go back”

Despite the fact that there were renovations going on, we loved staying at this hotel. Clearly, the entire place had been renovated so it was in wonderful condition and lovely throughout. The location could not be beat: a short walk to Notre Dame and the RER to CDG. The neighborhood was wonderful. The Junior Suite was perfect for our family of 4 (with a nice bathroom, I should note). Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely go back.

Left Bank -- it was close to the river so had easy access to major sights, water taxi, etc. The neighborhood itself is historic, lovely and close to great shopping and restaurants.
