“Ideally Parisian!”

W/hen I first entered my room I felt like I had walked into in movie "Gigi". Although small, it was beautifully appointed and the bed was heaven to fall into after a day of seeing the sights. It is located several short blocks from the Trocadero Metro Station and some excellent cafes. The Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe are within walking distance and the Louvre other major museums are easy Metro rides away. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. When I told them how much I liked their hotel, they were clearly pleased and proud. When I dialed the phone to request a wake up call I got real live person and a real person called me in the morning. The only potential problem i can see is that the room was on the small side. I was traveling alone and hardly in the room except to sleep so it didn't bother me. I did not see any of the other rooms so I can't say what size other rooms are.

Area recommendations
I think Montmartre is a must for any Paris visit.

“A hotel with character in a great location”

The hotel has, as the French say, the strength of its weaknesses. Its strength is its old world charm, character and class in an excellent location for business and pleasure, but this means that you won't get a modern predictable room with standard conveniences. Personally, I was happy with this trade off, especially at the price paid. Bed was quite comfortable and drapes blocked out all light for daytime sleep from jet lag . Street noise was sometimes a little loud (i.e., not modern double blind windows), but it didn't really bother me. My business executive room was small by U.S. standards, but sufficient in size and adequate for working (which I had to do in part). Free wifi internet access was fine. Service in France often leaves something to be desired, so it is a real plus that service at the hotel was good and friendly. I highly recommend breakfast, because it is well prepared and the dining room is a marvelous place. It is hard to find hotels in France with real gyms, so lack of a gym wasn't a comparative issue for me. Best option is to go to Club Med gym, where you pay 26 euro for a work out.

“Will definitely return”

Great Hotel! Very friendly staff. Hotel can best be described as a visit to a friend's French Townhouse; very intimate. Loved the Louis Vuttion Elevator!! The location not touristy and convenient to metro transportation and is a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. We booked a basic room and it was very small but very well decorated; I would upgrade my room next time.

Area recommendations
Trocadero Square, because it is not touristy, it’s a quiet residential area close to transportation and key attractions.

“2 thumbs up!!!!!!”

The staff were great, especially Louise and Franco ( sorry if I spelled your names wrong). The hotel was small as expected of a boutique hotel. We enjoyed our stay because they made us feel welcome. Room though small was clean, bed and pillows were very comfortable. The greatest was the location we were 5 mins. walk to trocadero (9th stop of Hop on Hop off Bus), very near Eiffel tower, Arc de Triomphe, and champ elysee. There were lots of places to eat and grab some fruits. Groceries and cafe's are everywhere. And most of all the vicinity was quiet. We sure enjoyed our walks.

Area recommendations
Coming out from the hotel turn right to rue lauriston a few steps on your left is a cafe named Salle Climatis'ee, we loved eating our breakfast here, the lady always welcome as with a smile. Also try going to rue saint didier (turn right) on the left side is a plaza named Galerie Saint Didier , there are lots of stalls were you can grab something to eat and casino grocery inside, go all the way rue saint didier to Avenue Victor hugo turn right hugo and try mc specialty in mc donald, nice pastries and coffee, (less expensive) there is a separate entrance on the side. Across the street is a fruit stand and conveninece store, where you can buy wine also. Overall the neighborhood around the hotel has lots of cafes and stores which can be explored walking
When to go
If you love shopping, try not to go on a Sunday in Paris, my big mistake, most of the stores are close, including Galeries Lafayette.

“Cozy, great location, and exceptional service...would stay here again!”

Jean Philippe gave exceptional concierge service, and the rest of the staff were also very welcoming. The location of the hotel was great, and was 1km from the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumphe, Champs-Elysees, and just a block away from the Metro. It was also in a super safe and quiet neighborhood. We loved coming in from the snow to a cozy fireplace in the front lobby. Although the rooms were small, they were very clean and nicely decorated, with very comfy beds, and the climate control worked great.

Area recommendations
We stayed in the 16th arrondissement, which was just 1km from the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumphe, Champs-Elysees, and just a block away from the Metro. It was also in a super safe and quiet neighborhood.
When to go
Paris is beautiful in the winter. The shop window displays are decorated elaborately during Christams time--what a beautiful site to see! And if you are lucky, you will see how beautiful the city looks adorned in snow. Be prepared though, as it's quite cold!
Getting around
Definitely learn how to use the Metro. It will save you lots of money, and it also gives you the true Parisian experience! Also be prepared to walk a lot.
Events and shows
Moulin Rouge is a must! Skip the dinner show to save a few bucks, and attend the late show instead.

“BEWARE AMERICANS!!”

This boutique hotel advertises four star luxury accommodations and service, but does not deliver. Attitude is typically French: snotty and incompetent. On the second to last day of our 7 day stay, something horrible occurred. We had a late dinner at Le Cafe Marly at the Louvre, following the Opera. It was 1am in the morning and we called the hotel to call us a cab, as there were none in sight and it was a snowy night. The desk clerk, Michael, first informed us that he knew exactly where we were. He then told us that calling a cab was not possible and hung up on us. We called back immediately and explained that it was very late, were were feeling unsafe and to please stay on the phone with us while we tried to flag down a cab. Again he hung up on us. Suddenly, a vagrant came towards us and attacked my elderly mother. There was a physical struggle and we were luckily able to phone the hotel again. Upon hearing the situation, he informed us that helping us to safety and calling the police were not possible and that it is was not part of his job. He insisted on giving us a phone number to call, which obviously we could not write down in the current situation. He refused to call on our behalf, even though he was fully aware of our dangerous situation. Then, he hung up again. A stranger on the street saw our distress and helped us find a cab. Upon our return to our hotel, we were greeted with a sneering, "So, you made it". No "are you okay?" or "what happened?".

Area recommendations
I would recommend staying in the 1st or 6th arrondisement, where there are many hotels and visitors. I think areas which are more accustomed to foreign visitors are better equipped to accommodate their needs while traveling.
Must see
The Paris Opera House (aka Opera Garnier) has a grand hall comparable to Versailles Hall of Mirrors and a ceiling painted by Chagall. The Grand Staircase is also historically renowned. Try to get seats in a private box. Make sure you visit Saint Chapelle, on Ile de la Cite when you go to visit Notre Dame. This antiquated church built in the 900's is small and gilded with gold decoration throughout. It is breathtaking and you can really feel the royals who used to worship there.

“Fabulous, very quaint hotel.”

Great location, not far from metro, morning cafe, Eiffel Tower. Rooms are well appointed - very comfortable - VERY quaint, with beautiful baths. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

When to go
We traveled to Paris and Rome during the first week of December. Minimal tourists which was a real bonus and good prices on airfare and accommodations. It was COLD and snowy in Paris, but we had researched a bit and brought raincoats, scarfs, wool hats and a small umbrella. Rome was fab- 45 50 degree weather and minimal numbers of tourists.

“beautiful, romantic , quintessential Parisian boutique hotel”

Beautiful hotel with excellent service. they went out of their way to get us a cab to the airport during the strike, which was not easy. Lovely champagne bar and great location btwn Eiffel tower and Arc de Triomphe. Quiet, upscale, residential area with small grocery store and coin laundry across the street.

“Wonderful hotel with great location and staff!”

We came to this hotel for our Honeymoon and were very pleased! The staff could not have been more accomodating and friendly! The hotel itself was always clean and our room was too. Our room was small for American standards but just the right size for Europeans. We had a great view and the location is right near the Eiffel Tower and Metro stations. This is a great hotel to stay at and we will definitely be returning here.

Area recommendations
This hotel is in the Trocadero neighborhood which is right by the Eiffel Tower and Arc De Triomphe. There are Metro stations within walking distance and plenty of shops and restaurants.

“Home away from Home”

I can't wait to go back to Paris. I have been there before and I would stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptional. It was a rare heat wave that caused us some discomfort but otherwise it couldn't have been better.

Area recommendations
This area. It seems to give you access to the sights, restaurants and shopping, as well as I felt like we were in the neighborhood of someone living and working in Paris.
Getting around
Use the two day tour bus pass to take you anywhere you might want to see, or take a taxi.
