    “Pullman Paris Bercy is excellent”

Unlike many European hotels, the rooms at the Pullman Paris Bercy are big and new. This hotel is a 3 minute walk to a Metro station so it is very convenient. It is also just a 3 minute walk to Bercy Village, which has a number of small restaurants, shops, and supermarkets. We stayed in this area of Paris before and specifically chose it again because of its convenience and lower price. We would definitely stay at the Pullman Paris Bercy again.

    “Paris Pullman Bercy”

Initially, we thought that the hotel (used by our tour operator) was a little too removed from the major sights; however, the proximity (about 2 city blocks) to the well run Paris Metro negated our concern. Getting to any major sight was quick and easy. Within a block is a collection of shops and restaurants. The latter provide a good mix of choices in a very safe surrounding. A number of them provided an English version of their menu Hotel staff were very helpful. Rooms and bathrooms were larger than expected. The shower leaked, but otherwise the place was in great shape. The pillows were so comfortable, I wish I could have fit them into a suitcase. The restaurant offered a very respectable buffet breakfast. If we go back to Paris, we'd seriously consider this hotel, or would look at the Pullman near the Eiffel Tower as a possible alternative. We spent 3 days in Paris on our own after the tour ended, and felt perfectly at ease thanks to the well run hotel staff.

    Area recommendations
We both found that Paris offers so much, it's truly too much to absorb....certainly in a few days. Not surprisingly the Louvre stands out as a sight - not just as an art collection, but as a building the sheer size and well executed design of which make it a sight in itself. We thought two other museums, which are not mentioned as often as the key art museums, were well worth a visit: Musee de l'Armee at the Invalides (another huge structure) with a well done presentation, even for non military buffs; and Musee Carnavalet which does an excellent job covering the history of Paris in a truly lovely setting with a relaxing garden. As an experience, a "Paris by Night" tour is so worth it! The incredible beauty of the day turns into a totally indescribable beauty at night. We enjoyed a walk through the Marias neighborhood, which has a ton of upscale shops, lovely architecture including the Place des Vosages, and the extremely well done Musee Carnavalet, mentioned above. Planners seem to have placed parks everywhere. Budgeting time in any of them is well worth the break time.
    Getting around
For the first time visitor, put transportation concerns at ease. Perhaps it's not the cleanest metro system in the world, but the Paris Metro is well run and well designed. Hotels seem to offer a map as a matter of course. Each station has a map of the system, and some indication of where (each) exit(s) places you on the street. Each car indicates the stop sequence with an accompanying indication of which lines intersect at each stop. The trains seem to run between three and six minutes apart. Although not true at every stop, escalators and often elevators offer alternatives to stairs. The major improvement we'd liked to have seen would have been the addition of signs pointing to the Metro stops a few blocks from each. There was only one stop near the Louvre that seemed to have this feature.

    “Awful customer service!”

We went here on our honeymoon. The first night we arrived there was a loud humming noise coming from the ceiling. We called maitenance and they did not come to check on the noise. We were awaken by the noise at 4:00 a.m. My husband went down to speak with the front desk and demanded that the room be compensated and that we have a new room. They assured us that someone would be up to check immediately. We were allowed to move to a new room. We were then informed that the breakfast was complimentary, but were charged at the end of our stay. At check out no one would acknowledge our room change and inconvenience and would not allow us to speak with a manager. They charged us for the breakfast, despite being told differently and would not acknowledge their mistake. Terrible customer service, no sympathy or empathy for the first night of our honeymoon being ruined by their faulty electric. Very far out of the way, not convenient to any other locations. Would not recommend simply based on their poor customer service!

“High quality hotel, great service, good location”

The Pullman isn't located in a tourist area, but is right on the Metro line, which gives you quick access to any and all areas of Paris. We even came back to the hotel a couple of days midday for a rest before venturing back out again. Tip: Take the Metro to Cour St. Emilion, not to Bercy. The hotel is high quality, very clean, and serves well as a base. Pros: free Wifi that works, great breakfast, comfortable beds, great housekeeping service, Bercy Village next door with a range of great restuarants with no attitude. Cons: surrounding area isn't typical classic Paris (but again, Metro access lessens this con). Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

    “Perfect Paris Location”

We were so happy with the Pullman Hotel at Bercy that we would not stay any place else on our next visit to Paris. It is definitely 4-Star quality. The location was perfect. Located near a business complex, park, and the most wonderful cafes and shops a Paris visitor could expect. The Bercy wine buildings of the past have been turned into numerous cafes and shops in a village atmosphere. The store was especially convenient for water, sodas, and snacks, but it also sold clothing and cosmetics. A multi-plex cinema theatre is at the street's end, and the Cour St-Emilion tube depot is part of the village complex and extremely convenient. We did not eat at the Pullman restaurant or bar. The prices were comparable to the Bercy Village, but the village was so much more fun. We loved the refrigerator in the hotel, the great queen-sized bed (which was wonderfully comfortable), and the beautiful hotel in general. The staff was extremely helpful and the language barrier at the hotel, Bercy village, and surrounding area was never a problem. We expected the French people to be a little snooty and unfriendly, but we found them to be friendly and accommodating. Getting around on the Paris tube was easy. One stop over from the Cour St-Emilion station is the Bibliotheque/St. Mitterand trail station. We found this extremely convenient to take to Versailles, Notre Dame and other tourist attractions that are a must see in Paris. We stayed for 6 nights and hated to leave.

    Area recommendations
The Bercy neighborhood consists mainly of apartment buildings and stores and services found in most U.S. cities, i.e., a beauty shop, grocery store, restaurants, etc. The Paris areas around the attractions were always busy and noisy. Traffic was horrendous, so the Bercy area was popular because of the quiet and serene location.
    What to pack
Take a camera and charger. Take a voltage converter. Do not expect the hotel to provide you with one. Take a washcloth, hotels in Europe and the UK do not supply them. Take your favorite soap, if you do not like multi-purpose dispensed gel/shampoo/soap. Take tennis shoes. You are a tourist. Wear jeans or comfortable slacks. We saw every type of outfit on the planet. There is no clothing rules in Paris for visitors. A light jacket is advisable. June weather was 70's and comfortable. Don't lug a large purse. Get a fabric shoulder sling (tons sold on the street), to carry your water, umbrella (?), and souvenirs. I use a small across body purse for my passport, credit cards, and money. A money belt for the men is wise. Or carry a practically empty wallet. Pickpockets are rampant at tourist locations. Always be vigilant about what you carry around. Do not overpack. Jeans and slacks have several days of use, and shirts/blouses can be worn more than once. One week's worth of clothing and supplies should easily fit into a carry-on bag.
    Other
We inadvertantly left a credit card on our table at a restaurant. When we realized the error and returned to get it, the card was gone. Our waitress was distressed and assured us that she had not seen it. It was probably picked up by some passerby or the people at the table next to ours who had left. Because we had recorded the numbers from our credit cards, the issuer and the customer service phone numbers, we were able to call the card company and have the card cancelled and a new one reissued. So, record those numbers in an notebook somewhere, or you might have a hard time remembering which card you lost and where to call. Also, American Express was harder to use than Mastercard or Visa.

    “Good Hotel”

We had a 5 night stay booked at the Pullman Bercy. Overall was a great stay - included a breakfast buffet for our party each day that was filled with choices that satisfied both the adults and children in our party. If you do not have breakfast included in your pkg make sure to visit the Bercy Village across the street for more economical choices. The breakfast mgrs/hostess was fantastic, always greeted us with a smile and treated us like family. Unfortunately, we had a mix-up with an excursion that was booked with someone at the concierge desk that took us 4 lengthy conversations to finally correct. Despite the same, the overall stay was good, the front desk staff were reasonably accomodating, the location was good for us and we enjoyed our time in Paris. Note: although this is a business persons hotels, I would still recommend it to those who want to be away from the hustle bustle of downtown Paris, while still being close enough for a 15 Euro taxi ride to main touristy areas, or a 15 mins metro ride.

Very nice hotel, comparable to a 4 star in Vegas. Staff very friendly and they speak English. Very close to metro station Cour St. Emilion. Very nice pedestrian marketplace within 100 yds of hotel with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Merci Pullman Bercy staff!!

Even though it's a big hotel, I enjoyed my stay. Hotel is quiet, clean, staff very helpful. The room was big enough and the bed very comfortable. Location is good, very close to subway and pretty easy to go via subway to all main attractions in Paris.

    “Dying Seals”

We don't know what exactly was making the noises (pipes? bad air conditioner?) but they sounded like seals being tortured! Horrible. It woke us up a couple of times. We heard it while watching TV, in the shower, so it was pretty noisy. We never found a comfortable temperature. The room never got cold which proved to be a problem because the down comforter on the bed was very, very warm. Overall, the service at the front desk was great and the location wasn't too far from central Paris. Bercy Village was adorable. Loved the shops.
