“Great simple hotel”
We were actually moved to the Residence Monceau Villiers which was part of the same group of hotels. It was fab, close to the metro and clean and the reception staff were always friendly and helpful. If the Etoile is as good as the Villiers was, fantastic. They were in pretty much the same location, so I would recommend either.
“Definately stay there again”
Really liked the hotel, staff were friendly - room was fairly small but big enough. Cooking facilities were basic but managed to make some decent meals - we advise you keep it simple though! Really nice area with a village atmosphere while being very close to the centre of Paris.
“Easy access to metro and major attractions”
Hotel accommodations and location are ideal for tourist that want close and easy access to most major attractions in Paris and only need a room to sleep.
“Off the beaten path....”
The hotel is in the 17th arrondismont away from almost anything touristy. The metro is three blocks away and there is a great street with tons of shops one block over. The rooms are small but if you are intending on spending a vacation in your room then you might be traveling to the wrong city. The kitchenette was a great addition to our trip. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a good bargain in Paris.
“Great Hotel and Staff”
Close to the beach and close to the International Market Place. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The room is very comfortable. The ONLY complaint I had about this place was that their Internet connection was always going down, and so for a working vacation, I would not choose it again. But for a leisurely vacation, it's a great location and great price. A nice place to rest after a day of seeing the beauty of Oahu.
“Excellent stay”
Thought this hotel was great. Yes the room was very small; we could just about walk around the edge of the bed, with the kitchenette at the foot of the bed, but it was clean and great to be able to cook simple meals. The bed seemed fairly substantial & can be folded up into sofa out of the way. Doors overlooking tiny courtyard lovely. Staff very helpful. Location fantastic; not far to 2 metro stations, near great market & loads restaurants. Don't expect luxury [not paying those prices!], but excellent- would stay again.
“Nice area, a little out of the way”
The room itself was pretty small, but if you're planning on exploring the city most of the time, room size isn't such a big deal. Though, the bathroom and shower are also very small. The hotel is near a market, which is great for stopping to get food for the day, and there is even a grocery store which seems to be somewhat of a rarity in Paris. And the refrigerator and microwave in the room are nice if planning on eating quickly before heading out. The walk to the Metro isn't bad at all. Check out Parc Monceau on a nice day...it's a great place to people watch!
“Excellent value for money.”
This is certainly not a luxury hotel. But the price is low, location is convenient, the staff is friendly and service is good.
“Good budget hotel”
The hotel itself was better than expected for the price range in terms of facilities, cleanliness and service, although the room was small. Toilet/shower was good but extractor was not working, leaving a slightly damp smell in the air, which i wouldnt expect in every room. The street the hotel is on is mainly residential, not attractive, but certainly quiet. The location itself was very convenient to get to the main tourist areas of sacre couer/montmatre/pigalle; downtown paris (the "isles" and neighbouring areas) and the eiffel tower. The best bit to me was the hotel neighbourhood. It offers a great flavour of inner city paris life. The market (Rue de Levis) & cafes/restaurants in adjacent streets are filled with friendly locals and a great variety (e.g. a creperie, burgundy, "home cooked" (french) cooking to spanish, indian, sushi) and they don't charge tourist prices. Post office, pharmacy, bakery, banks & Villiers tube just around the corner. Its a relaxing 10 minute walk to some of the night spots in Paris around the Place de Clichy. I would go back again.
“Seemed like good value for money”
This hotel is people like my girlfriend and I who don't have much money at all but still like a bed to ourselves at the end of a long day of sight seeing. The room is very basic and small and there's no tea, coffee, mini bar etc. but its in a great location and is nice and clean. The staff were helpful (but quiet) and spoke Enlgish which was a bonus for us. The thing to be wary of is that there is no air conditioning and no way to cool this tiny room down - we were there in summer and it was like a sauna. Lucky we were so tired otherwise it would've been really hard to sleep.
