“Very good and friendly service”
We stayed only for one stop-over night, but would stay longer if we are back for a longer period. Very good hotel with impecable service. We can especailly recommend the concierge service - they go the extra step to satisfy guests and know the city inside-out. Very impressive. Hotel is about 10 - 15 minutes by metro to the city center, but the metro is very a ver convinient means of transport in Paris.
“Great hotel...”
We were so happy with the location, comfortable bed, clean room and a quality breakfast. However, we ended our stay with unhappiness. Since we had to leave the hotel early in the morning (before the restaurant opens) on the last day, we were told that we could order a breakfast box to go. We did with an English speaking restaurant staff member and asked to have our breakfast box ready by 4:45 am. She told us that it would not be a problem and it would be left at the receptionist desk. When we were ready to leave at 4:45am on the day of departure, the receptionist told us that there was no breakfast box left for us by restaurant staff. After his call to restaurant, he was told it would be ready in 30 seconds. We waited until 4:55 am and we decided to leave as the taxi driver was waiting and the meter was running. I was so disappointed as our stay would have been perfect without that instance.
“not so central”
Hotel is a bit far from the main tourist attractions of Paris. Although the metro is close by and very easy to use, a bit more central location would have been nice.
“A very comfortable contemporary hotel in Distict 14 Paris”
Room was delightful, clean and very comfortable. With contemporary furnishings arranged in a very user friendly way to maximise space. Toilet located separately next to the bathroom - great if you don't want to be disturbed by partner when you're soaking in the bathtub!! Beds are sooooo comfortable and white linen is beautifully clean and fresh. Reception-desk staff very helpful and efficient as were the Bar staff. Only sampled breakfast in the restaurant on the 2nd floor but was delighted with the comprehensive choice of breakfast options available. Lovely setting. Hotel in fairly quiet location for Paris but has a metro station a hundred yards away with easy access to all the sights of Paris - also very reasonable taxi rates to get you to that 'special restaurant' Would not hesitate to book in to Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel any time I am visiting Paris.
“Great hotel, careful of directions from concierge”
The hotel and staff were excellent until I asked the concierge for directions to a bakery for a good eclaire. The concierge looked puzzled and gave me directions anyway. I ended up at a butcher and not a bakery. Upon my return to the hotel in the evening, a staff member who overheard my converstation with the concierge explained that the concierge was new and didn't know what an eclaire was and that she actually had to show her what it was online! This staff member did go out of her way to try to get me the eclaire but unfortunately, most of the bakeries had closed and I was checking out at 4 AM the next morning. Had expected better knowledge from this concierge and the excuse she was new and not a French native was not acceptable for giving misinformation.
“Comfortable and modern American hotel in Paris”
Very comfortable and modern, spacious rooms at a good rate. The hotel does not give you any Paris flair, but if you are looking for a well-run hotel that is still relalatively affordable, the Marriott Rive Gauche is a good choice. A note to my dear fellow Americans: please, please don't show up in running shoes, unironed pants and a T-shirt in a good hotel or restaurant. Tacky, tacky ... there are people out there who enjoy a nice-looking environment.
“bon hôtel quoique un peu cher pour les prestations”
Bel hôtel fréquenté surtout par les ressortissants étrangers, (anglais, américains, italiens ...). Belle et grande chambre avec un lit king size appréciable. pas de mini-bar mais un petit réfrigérateur - toutefois un peu cher
“Clean newer hotel close to metro station”
nice newer hotel close to metro with comfortable beds and nice bathroom. This hotel has a nice resturant and bar and is in a relitively quite area.
“Trop chaud ou trop froid ?”
En ce week end sibérien, notre chambre était surchauffée... Nous avons signalé ce problème à la réception. Un technicien est intervenu rapidement mais sous résoudre ce problème !
“soft beds”
as anyone traveling to Paris knows, the service is much lower than what you would expect in other countries, particularly the US. But I would give the Marriott Rive Guache high marks for one reason: the soft beds! What I dread most about leaving the comforts of home and traveling to european city is the rock hard mattresses. Fortunately the Marriott chain has kept this aspect uniform wherever their hotels operate and you can always count on a soft bed and thus a good night's sleep in any Marriott hotel
