“A lovely friendly hotel in good situation to explore Paris.”

The rooms were comfortable if compact, mine was at the front of the hotel and had a balcony from the bedroom and bathroom, rooms at the back look onto an inner courtyard. The complimentary breakfast was very good continental breakfast with a good selection. The rooms did not have tea and cofee making facilities as advertised, this can be purchased from room service. The hotel was very close to the Voltaire metro and there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity.A Sunday morning stroll around the Pere Lachaise Cemetry, 10 minutes walk away, is recommended.

“Nice Hotel”

We had a lovely time staying at the New Hotel Candide. The only real draw back was that it quite far out from the centre of Paris. However the metro station is 1 minutes walk away from the hotel. The reception staff were extremly helpful and could not do enough for us.

“Very satisfatory for our needs”

The hotel is situated in a quite neighbourhood of Paris, just a short step from the Voltaire metro station. It was clean, safe and comfortable though the room was small. The attached bathroom was also clean adequate, and both were well maintained while we were there. Breakfast was served promptly every day at 7:00am in the small dining room on level -1, and there was a daily choice of cereal, yoghurt, slices of meat. varieties of bread, and plenty of coffee or tea. The staff behind the front desk and those in the dining room were most helpful, returning a bag to our room one time that we left it in the dining room, and also helping me connect to their wifi system on another occasion. I would probably return to this hotel if I were to revisit Paris, though I might also look for a less expansive hotel further from the city centre but still on the metro of I could. Staying in other hotels and B&B's around France after our stay in Paris, I found this hotel to be considerably more expensive than any other; however it is a Paris hotel so prices there are always going to be more than outside the capital.

“New Hotel Candide”

For a 3* Paris hotel this was fine. The room was quite small & the view from the window was a wall, but we weren't in Paris to stay in the room & look out of the window! It was clean & recently renovated. The breakfast was a cold buffet - usual croissants, cereals, tinned fruit, yogs, fruit juice and tea / coffee. It was close to a Metro station and on a quiet side road. We would defintely stay there again when in Paris.

“Good Hotel”

The hotel is basic but fine. The rooms are clean but the general areas are in need of an update. Reception staff are lovely. Pleasant, polite and speak English. However the hotel is too far away from the main attractions. Yes there are Metro stations on every corner but we found they were for ticket/pass holders only...and no information as to where we could buy a pass/ticket!!!!! It's the first time I have been to Paris and I must say it will be my last. £15.00 for two pints of beer. £10.00 for two pieces of cheese on toast. £5.00 for a coffee???? There is dog mess and graffiti everywhere and I get the impression that the Parisians don't really like tourists. EEnjoy your trip you may find another side to Paris I didn't see!

“très pratique à 2mn du metro Voltaire”

Bon quartier, service très convenable, rapport qualité/prix avantageux, le petit déjeuner (généreux au buffet) est inclus dans le prix de la chambre.

“Very satisfied”

Sayed here in July, 09 for 10 days and the staff were very friendly and always ready to give advice. Room was clean, with comfortable beds and pillows. The breakfast was lovely. Handy location with an internet place across the street and lots of convenience stores and cafes. The area was alive and easy to get around with a subway and taxi stands nearby. Easy walking distance to the river and attractions. A great stay!

“A well-placed and reasonably priced hotel”

Very convenient if you like walking round Paris as we do - not far to Bastille, the Marais etc.The breakfast was fine - fresh and plenty of it. The bathroom was a bit on the small side but we managed to squeeze in!
