“respactable for visitors to fair.”
why there is no breakfast in this deal?
“Good value”
After an overnight flight, we arrived at the hotel 2 hours before normal check-in time. Room was ready, and we were allowed to check in right away. Room was clean. Shuttles to and from hotel are spacious, comfortable and on time.
“excellent place to stay if you fly out of Charles de Gaulle in Paris”
very good price/quality ratio, close to the airport, professionally managed. Important detail: ask precisely how to use the shuttles to the different terminals, it is not that easy
“Convenient location to CDG”
This hotel was chosen solely because of proximity to Charles DeGaulle Airport. We have stayed there previously and have the same complaint. Most travelers, whether on business trips or vacationing, need to communicate by email. It is absurd for a hotel of the size of the Mercure not to offer free internet access via WiFi. All the smaller hotels we stayed in in France provided such service. In the future I will avoid hotels that charge extra for internet access.
“Excellent hotel”
Excellent hotel giving you a break from the smallish (but nice) average french hotel room. It was perfect for us the night before going back to the US, but it should be even better after a long tiring flight. VERY comfortable. The restaurant is not really cheap, though, but it's there. At the time (7/2011), they had free breakfast (usually Euro 18 each...) for people over 60; but you have to ask for it. The shuttle bus going from the hotel to the airport was OK, with quite a long walk to the American Airlines gate. Next time I will take a taxi from the arrival area to the hotel. It's my opinion that, even on a budget, it's not worth the aggravation. We were two "mature" but active travelers with some luggage.
“I will stay at this hotel again next time I travel.”
Nice staff, big room, big bathroom, wifi, confortable beds, good breakfast and 10 minutes away from Charles de Gaulles airport with free shuttle every 20 minutes to and from the hotel.
“Nice hotel, good value”
Located at CDG. Hotel is clean and comfortable featuring good service and a decent restaurant.
“Hotel and room are great, but restaurant is bad.”
We stayed at this hotel two years in a row for one night to catch our plane the next day. The room and check-in service are great. During our first visit we ate at the restaurant. It was very good a year ago (surprising for a hotel), but it has clearly gone down hill. Next time we will eat in town which is a very nice 5 minute from the hotel. When you leave the hotel turn right and the town is just a short walk down the block. Avoid the restaurant at this hotel!
“Golf hôtel close to Paris CDG Airport.”
Hotel is clean and well located. Staff was capable and helpful. The free shuttle service was ok.
“OK Hotel, but Bring Food”
I had to find a room on short notice, and I was very glad to find space at this hotel close to CDG. It was not the most expensive hotel on the strip, based on my search, and I was very pleased that it was clean and comfortable. There were serious weaknesses, though. Their plan seems to be to offer lower priced rooms and charge more for food. Paying Paris prices for food does not work for me in what is essentially an industrial park. The other residents appeared to be on expense accounts, so this is probably fine for most, but the independent traveler is in a bad situation, especially if they are from the US and the exchange rates is not favorable (like now). I paid too much for dinner and was wary of breakfast. I asked about it and was told it was included, not so. It is a quality breakfast and you can get your monies worth if you plan to eat for the day, but I paid over $20.00 for not so much more than McDonald's offers. OK, the fresh squeezed juice is wonderful, but just a high-priced gimmick from my perspective. Remember the context...no other options other than to troll the other hotels for bargains. Bring food. Also, I am not a snooty American who expects the French to be fluent in English, but any question involving the words breakfast and included ought to have an easy answer. Maybe posting the price of breakfast would make sense? The bakeries of Paris support my view that I am not alone in not wanting to pay $20.00 for breakfast.
