“Fantastic Hotel, Great for Travellers”
Its a really great hotel. I had a single room on the ground floor and it was so lovely and clean and the bed was really comfy. It was better than the bed I have at home! The bathroom was a bit on the small side but as it was just me it wasn't a problem. Towels are provided and they're nice and soft. The room had air con which was easy to use. The hotel also provides free wifi. Its in a great location as its really close to the Gare Du Nord train station. From the front of the train station just walk down the short street in front, turn left and its about 15m ahead. I travelled by train on my holiday so it was very convenient. I did, however, need to leave from the Gare Du Lyon but its only 12 euros in a taxi from the hotel. As I was on my own they requested a female taxi driver for me too which I thought was great as I didn't ask them to do that.
“Excellent hotel”
Have stayed here many times and the staff an hotel are great, nothing is too much trouble and we will definitely be back.
“cheap and good transport links”
Not a lot, but clean and quiet
“Cheap, Convenient and Clean”
Hotel is "very" close to the Gard Du Nord about 2 mins walk. The Gard Du Nord is brilliant for transport links all around Paris 15 mins on the metro to the Eiffel Tower. The main road is quite busy so not bad even when we returned late at night. There are loads of brassieres’, cafes and kebab places on way back. The Hotel reception is currently being decorated (July 2011), don't let this put you off. The lift of the hotel takes 3 person max so 2 with luggage, corridors were small and smelt of gloss paint, BUT again DO NOT let you put this off! When we got to the room the size of room was massive, though we booked a twin room we got 3 beds in the room, we used one as a seating area. The room was clean and big, the shower room was new as far as I can see. Free wifi in hotel was excellent for us to search for places to go the next day. There is a 4 hour limit, but more than enough when on holiday. Just need to stop the connection when you are done or counter carries on. The room was cleaned every day and we were given fresh towels. The reception staff was very helpful with a postcard query we had and let us leave our luggage on checkout at 12noon as our train was not until 5pm. Only a few small downsides were its close to main road and could hear sirens once or twice a night. The cleaner on our floor was a little heavy handed when cleaning and I could hear her slamming the doors early in the morning. Overall Cheap, Convenient and Clean!
“*** Libertel Gare Du Nord Suede * I 'll Be Back ***”
I wasn't sure about this hotel, there were mixed reviews & most travel books about Paris, do not mention the 10e or feel that the area has anything going for it , or to offer a tourist , but i enjoyed the area more than other tourist areas , such as Rue De Rivoli near the Louvre.. And once i was at the Hotel, all doubts were gone ! The neighborhood, is a busy area, safe & convenient , a real plus, especially since it was my first time in Paris & i did not know anyone ...My friend arrived half way through my stay , she also thought the hotel was cool & had no complaints about her room & stay ! The room was smaller than most American hotel rooms, but for me it was okay, i only needed somewhere safe & comfortable , and i really had the best nights sleep while i was there !! The staff was GREAT , really helpful & friendly, no problems with the internet in lobby, a clean room , what more could you want ?
“very impressed”
rated only as 2 star, we would class it higher. welcome very friendly by staff. we arrived early and they stored our luggage in a locked room so we could go sightseeing. staff were friendly and helpful. can't comment on meals as we were not in the hotel at meal times. we will definitely use this hotel again when we visit paris.
“Go for the Comfort room”
We stayed in a comfort room for the 4 nights we were in Paris and it was very comfy! If you expect a lot of space then you will be disappointed but from reading reviews of other hotels I think small room size in Paris is par for the course. We asked for a twin room and the beds were right next to each other though they had separate sheets and duvets. This suited us fine and the beds were really comfortable. We had a great nights sleep on the fifth floor and had a beautiful view of the Sacre Coeur from our room. The ensuite was clean and spacious enough but we can't understand why they ask you to conserve your towels to save the environment and then go and change them anyway?!The hotel was really easy to get to-get the RER train from CDG to Gare Du Nord and then it is a few minutes walk to the hotel.Very easy to get around-we hopped on the train at Gare de l'est each day and never had to make more than 2 changes to get to any sights. Also we got brekkie from a boulangerie on the way to the station for a few euros instead of having to pay for an expensive breakfast at the hotel. If you like walking you can walk to the Sacre Coeur from the hotel easily enough-beware of street sellers trying to force you to buy thread bracelets which they put on your wrist whilst you are trying to walk away from them!It is a great place to watch street performers in the late evening and soak up the atmosphere. All in all,Paris is a fantastic city to visit but take lots of pennies as it isn't cheap!
“Will definately return”
This hotel was very close to the Eurostar station, immaculately clean, air conditioned and totally comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Area felt like a genuinely Parisian area and not too touristy. Loved it and will definately return here.
“Easy access to Gare Du Nord”
We got in at midnight and were out by morning for train and flight. Convenient access to Gare du Nord.
“We recommend this hotel”
We found the hotel very clean and tidy, appeared to have been recently rennovated. The rooms were small but this is apparently typical of Paris. Proximity to Gare du Nord was really great. Good French breakfast was included.
