“I felt confident in the quality of all facilities and services.”

This is a handy location in Paris, near Montparnasse and less than a block from metro stations on two lines. Hotel itself was clean and well managed. Room was snug but comfortable. It met all requirements of the reservation.

Area recommendations
I chose this area because I had lived near there years ago. It is one of many pleasant areas. There are few areas of Paris that are boring and/or unsafe. If you want to save money, go to the banlieu (suburbs) and take the train into Paris for sightseeing. Many areas outside the city have history and sites worth seeing as well.
When to go
In August the tourists seem to outnumber Parisiens. If that is what you like, go then. From October to April, the tourist sites are nearly empty but open. I like this for avoiding crowds.

“Great service!”

The Lenox hotel offers great service, upon arrival we were greeted warmly and were able to check in immediately even though we arrived in the a.m. The Lenox is surrounded by 3 metro stations. Edgar Quinet being the closest. We easily took the Edgar Quinet to the Bir-hakeim and walked to the Eiffel tower in 5 minutes. On arrival, we were also able to take the RER B (train) to Denfert Rochereaux and then on to Edgar Quinet and walked less than 5 minutes to the hotel. This saved us a tonne of money in cabs and as long as you don't have much luggage it is easy to get around by metro and train. it was also very easy to get to Versailles via the train. I highly recommend the hop on and hop off bus. We used it the first 2 days and it gave us a good orientation of the city and offered a semi guided tour via headphones so we learned a bit about paris. There are quite a few restaurants/cafes around but not much variety in menu. I was a bit disappointed in the food found in paris in general a bit bland expected more. We did like the Indiana, near gare montparnasse just because it at least had something different than cheeseburgers, sandwiches, salads, the wait staff was also very nice. Overall Paris is a beautiful city, be prepared to walk and the Lenox provides a nice central location that is clean but small (like most paris hotels). The hotel is air conditioned and has a tub including a shower.

Area recommendations
I found the Eiffel Tower area a great spot to start exploring. Whether by river boat (cruise, can be booked just across the street from the tower..just ask at information if you don't see it.) or walking it is beautiful. Once we visited the Eiffel Tower (I highly recommend getting tickets ahead of time...we arrived 15 min before it opened and there was already an hour and half line to get tickets..actually probably a good idea to prebook any tickets you can other than the hop on and off and seine river cruise which were easy enought to just pay for there). We then stopped for lunch, walked along the Seine to the Musee D'Orsay...quite a walk but beautiful. We then continued on passed the Louvre to Notre Dame. This was a long long walk but it was so beautiful. If walking is an issue - bus, metro, train are all available options. Loved Haussman Boul. and Champ D'elysses for the shopping and even walking along Rennes provided a lot of shopping opportunities. Loved Le Printemps especially the children's floor...where else can I buy my 2 year old Burberry...even if too pricey there is something for everyone..you can find affordable pieces and perfume. The streets can be confusing be prepared to get lost...just enjoy! Overall be prepared for long line ups and people cutting in apparently that's normal. Just enjoy and remember to not sweat the little things...you are after all in Paris. A city full of beautiful gardens, buildings and history.

“Good place to stay in Paris”

We made the hotel reservation based on Expedia review and it didn't disappoint us. 1) Great location. Many good restaurants within walking distance. 2 Metro stations about 100 yards away. 2 grocery stores and 1 bakery on the same street. 2) Good service. I have requested hotel to schedule shuttle service to pick up/drop off us at CDG airport. Staffs are fluent in English. 3) Room is small like other reviewers mentioned, probably is normal in Paris with the price you pay. 4) Hotel offers 2 for 1 breakfast buffet and free movies during our stay which is nice.

“Very nice.”

Very convenient to two metro lines and easy walk to Luxenburg, Notre Dame, Bon Marche, etc. Many good restaurants close by. The room was nicely decorated, clean, with a good size bathroom. The desk staff was helpful with dinner reservations and very pleasant. They have a nice bar/lounge area and a computer available in the lobby to use as well a reliable wi-fi service. Very much exceeded my expectations!

“Good hotel for Paris”

Very nice location, subway is right next to the hotel, good staff, size of the Classic room a little bit small, everything is clean in the rooms, but the hotel looks a little tiny, doors, halls, very small. Maybe that what Europe all about? I would recommend it to others!

Area recommendations
Effel Tower, Museum of Army, Phanteon,
Getting there
From CDG airport you go to Charlete (it will take you around 8 stations) or better go to Desert (what even the name was) station and then you change lines to B line and it only take you 2 stations to get there, exit to Durange street and take a turn to the right.

“Will definitely go back”

My daughter and I stayed at the Lenox Montparnasse for 8 nights. This was our first trip to Paris and we were very pleased with the hotel and the location! I read plenty of reviews before choosing this hotel and I am grateful for all of the info. This hotel was surrounded by plenty of restaurants and caves, even a small pizza shop right down the street! You can pick up breakfast at a patisserie just a few doors down ( excellent quiche!). One night we picked up a few types of cheese and a loaf of bread and had that for a light dinner. You can find everything you need on the sa e block of the hotel - what a surprise, there is even a laundromat nearby. In addition, there are two lines of the metro very closely. We bought a metro pass and we were able to get to all major sights in the city within minutes-so convenient. We didn't want to leave this beautiful city and the comfort of the Lenox Montparnasse. The customer service was top-notch. We were there from July 14-July 22, 2011.

Area recommendations
Montparnasse and Monmarte for reasonable prices with ways access to the major sites.
Getting around
Must buy a metro pass - it's cheaper than taxis and you will be able to see much more because you won't be stuck in traffic....it is very easy to find your way around.

“Will be going back!”

The hotel is very well maintained and clean!!!. Not run down like many of the hotels that claim 3 stars. It is very well lit enabling business visitors to work very well in the rooms. Also, the sound insulation is great, cannot hear neighboring room noises. Definitely will be returning.
