“Just outside Le Jardin du Luxembourg”
A great find, close to the Luxembourg Gardens, and walking distance to the myriad of boutiques in the network of streets between there and Saint Germain. A comfortable hotel (our only critiscism was that the safe was locked open) but a good clean and comfortable room, with good clean bathroom with excellent shower and bath. Staff were friendly (and against my every attempt to practice my French), spoke fluent English courteously. The real joy is that the Gardens are just a block away, and, being in a residential area, the local bars and restaurants have a local reputation to maintain. I'd go back.
“The best hotel in Paris”
This is a wonderful hotel, although I hesitate to recommend it because we won't be able to get a reservation again. We stayed here 11 years ago and loved it but weren't able to get a reservation when we came back 6 years ago. The rooms are delightful, beautifully appointed with exquisite views of the skyline of Paris. The neighborhood of the university is very comfortable with wonderful book stores on every block. The street on which the hotel is located is quiet and charming with blooming chestnut trees in the spring, two blocks from the Luxembourg Gardens. The service in impeccable, and the breakfast, which are not included, lavish and delicious. My major concern was the coffee, which was excellent. I will try to stay here every time I go back to Paris.
“One of the nicest hotels I have staid in...anywhere.”
After reading the reviews about Paris hotels being so small, I booked the "Prestige Deluxe" room. They upgraded me (room 602). The room was spacious...with 2 small closets. It had a nice view and a large bath. It was very tastefully decorated. It had a nice view. Many small bakeries and fruit shops nearby. Tips: buy the Visit Pass before you leave the USA, for unlimited use of subway/bus/RER trains. The RER station is near the hotel and very usefull. A time saver. There is no way to buy tickets for the RER with cash at many stations (Luxembourg and the airport included) and you must have a debit card with an electronic chip embeded in it to buy them at most stations. These chips are not available in USA debit cards. Also buy tickets for Louvre, del'Orangerie and d'Orly museums in advance of the day you visit...long, one hour lines. Go to the"Info stand" at the Gare du Nord. The "visit pass" will get you there and then hook up with the metro. To get thru the metro exit with luggage just push on the door with the steel bars next to the turnstyle and it opens. Don't miss the Mus. Cluny and the movie at the Aquarium near Trocadero. The Luxembourg Park is lovely. The hotel staff recommended several nice restaurants. Overall I was impressed by the courtesy of the French people (compared with Americans) and the fract that English is the common language of all the visitors to Paris.
“Great”
They spoke english very well and were quite polite. The woman who is there during the week was absolutely wonderful!
“Excellent choice”
This hotel was adorable. Very nice rooms which contain wonderfully french decor. The hotel front desk was a life saver as they helped us navigate the city during the public employee strike. I would highly recommend this hotel because the staff is so friendly and very willing to help. I do speak some French, but the front desk employees were fluent in English and happy to communicate in that language. The hotel is situated in the heart of Paris. It is two blocks from the Jardin du Luxemburg in the Latin Quarter, a short walk to the pantheon and about a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame. There are bus stops less than a block away which have stops approximately every ten minutes. There is an RER (subway) stop a block away across from the gardens. Transportation to and from the hotel is very easy and convienent.
“The Best”
I spent a lot of time researching hotels for this trip and finally settled on this one based on finding no negitive commentary about it anywhere. As it turned out, this hotel was perfect. Our room was beautifully decorated and our bed was super comfortable. The service and hospitality of the staff were excellent. Best of all is the hotel's nearby location to Paris attractions as well as being in a great local neiborhood that is extremely quiet at night. Highly recommended.
“Extremely satisfied”
This is a delightful small hotel located approximately two blocks from the Luxembourg Gardens and the Luxembourg metro station. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and quaint, and contains ample cafes, restauarants, and patisseries. Our room was small, but quite comfortable, and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My wife and I would certainly return. Perhaps the only shortcoming is that breakfast was not included in the price of the room and was very expensive. We quickly realized that we were much better off walking to one of the local cafes for a croissant and a cafe au lait.
“refined and classic,”
The concierge and staff showed courtesy and attention to detail. The rooms were well appointed, and the location is quiet and very Parisian. In fact, this is an insider's hotel, truly French and with the nearby Luxembourg Gardens, a most elegant corner of the city. Was so glad to have made this choice.
“Great service and local flavor!”
While our room was rather small (yes, even by European standards), the charm was undeniable. The service was impressive - we'd return just to enjoy the company of the staff again!
“Great Paris Hotel”
The locaton was away from the horrendous crowds of the right bank. Hotel was quiet, and for Paris, good value. The location in 5e was superb. Staff made reservation at restaurants for me, and were always helpful in this huge urban area.
