“Can't beat the location!”

We based our choice of hotel on the location, and we were not disappointed. Front desk service was brisk - very French, but satisfactory for what we needed. They helped us with where to eat, and booked our special dinner on the Bateaux Mouche for us. The room was definitely unique! We loved the high class, French appearance of it. However, the laminate on the bathroom counter was bubbled, the one bedside table was broken and the lamps were pretty shabby. Our bathroom sink was clogged, but that got fixed in the first few days that we were there. Overall, a enjoyable stay, but I won't go back to that hotel for the price we were charged - I'll stay somewhere else in the neighborhood.

Area recommendations
Go to the auto-free streets behind this hotel to eat! Tons of restaurants, all unique.

“Couldn't do better than this”

Location, location, location! Directly across the street from the metro station and Notre Dame cathedral. Tons of cafes within a block, The Louvre, St, Germain, St. Chapelle, the Concierege, Isle St. Louis, and the Pantheon are all within ten minutes' walk from the hotel. The crowd noise at night was barely noticeable; it certainly didn't keep us up after a day's worth of walking all over a truly beautiful city. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. If we're ever in Paris again, we're staying here.

When to go
As much as we had a blast, August is a horrible time to visit France, since at least 1/4 of the world's population apparently descends on Paris at this time, which means you will be spending a lot of your visit waiting on lines. The line to get in the catacombs resulted in a more than two-hour wait, but it was worth it. Go in mid October or sometime between Easter and June.
What to pack
Comfortable walking shoes and a Paris museum pass.

“Great view and location.”

Great view of Notre Dame from our room. Rooms were not noisy at all with windows closed. Easily accessible to metro/RER (2 min or so walk). Free wifi. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Initially when you enter hotel you do have stairs to climb. After entering lobby there is a small elevator that can fit two ppl or one person and probably one piece of luggage. This however, would not deter me from staying at this hotel in the future. Very good experience!

“Rooms are too small”

There are quite a few steps to walk up to reception. Please highlight this to potential customers. Rooms are small.

“Did not disappoint!!”

I found this place by doing a google search for hotels near Notre Dame. I knew I wanted something in the Latin Quarter and was looking for something more interesting than the new Holiday Inn down the street. While it wasn't a steal, it was a great value. The website is very true to life, so make sure you view the galleries to decide if this funky LaCroix styled hotel is your style before booking. The room was very clean and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They all spoke English, along with French, and a few other languages. It's on a very busy street corner so you could hear some street noise at times (sirens) but not enough to keep us up at night. I would definitely go back here given the chance! Enjoy!

Area recommendations
I love the Latin Quarter, I've stayed there on all four of my visits to Paris. It may not always be the classiest of places but there's a boisterous nightlife and many good deals to be found! It's easy to reach from the airports and metro. It's definitely touristy so if you're looking for a quiet parisian retreat, this area's not for you. But if you're looking for a good home base for your vacation and a great people watching spot, this is where you want to be!

“Clean, chic, friendly helpful staff and great location”

First time in France. Loved the location. As expcected room was small but clean and very comfortable. Breakfast very reasonable considering a cup of coffe in France is very expensive. The staff was helpful, spoke English, very friendly and upbeat. Beautiful view of the Seine and Notre Dame. Metro and batobus stops across the street. Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Located on a busy street but the traffic noise did not bother us. Would definately go back.

Getting around
Definately would recommend the Batobus to get to man of the sights in Paris. It makes 8 stops and you can get on and off all day for one price. 2 day pass reasonable.

“Incredible Notre Dame View!”

We could not have been closer to Notre Dame or in a better location. The hotel staff was very accomodating and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved it! Air conditioning AND an elevator (although very small). The only thing that could have made it better was a mini fridge for the cheese and wine we bought! We will definitely stay at Le Notre Dame again when we return to Paris.

Area recommendations
Somewhere near the Latin Quarter. It has everything closeby including plenty of cafes and shops as well as convenient transportation to get to anywhere else in the city
Must see
We of course went to the main attractions in Paris as well as Versailles. The Musee Pass was definitely worth its expense for saving a LOT of time standing in lines. There are still lines but we didn't have to stand in line to get a ticket and then stand in line to get in. SO glad we bought them!

“Great Value and Superb Location in Paris”

Great location of The Hotel Notre Dame in the middle of Paris situated on the Seine, directly across from Notre Dame Cathedral. Paris Metro is directly outside the front door of the hotel which makes seeing all of the sites easy and efficient. Take the Metro from the airport to the front door of the Hotel for 8.40 Euro and save yourself about 40 Euro for a taxi. There are many cafes/bistros within walking distance of Hotel Notre Dame and just around the corner is a great gelato place called "Amorino Gelato" - Perfect to cool off after a long, hot day of sight-seeing. Would definitely not hesitate to go back to Hotel Notre Dame.

Area recommendations
We particularly loved the Saint Germain area in the 6th Arrondisement, within walking distance of the Hotel Notre Dame. We took a short walk almost every evening along the Seine, just past Pont-Neuf to the Rue de Seine and then walked down the street - It is an area that is a bit on the "artsy" side with plenty of younger people, great restaurants/bars/cafes and just a great energy; and not too "touristy".
Shopping
Here is a tip from my girlfriend for women who love shoes: You need only go to ONE store in all of Paris for shoes: Galleries Lafayettes - The shoe department in this department store is one ENTIRE FLOOR of every shoe designer/manufacturer of ladies shoes in the entire World. It must be at least 30 000 sq. ft of shoes. Have your boyfriend go to the north-west corner of the shoe-department where they have an "Illy Cafe" where you can sit down, relax, and enjoy the best Espresso in all of Paris while your girlfriend shops her heart out.
