“A real gem of a hotel”
I stayed here with the girlfriend for a long weekend early October. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a friendly welcome and a drink while we waited for the room, as we were a little early. Being my first time to Paris, I needed some help to find my way around on the metro and it was nice to know I could always get some help with direction etc from the always very willing to help staff, who all speak very good english. The hotel is also very close to Pernety the nearest metro station, being only a a few minutes walk. It is around 20 minutes ride on the metro to many of the main attractions, but this is no problem on the highly efficient metro. There are also lots of local restaurants and shops in easy walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
“The perfect proposal in Paris!”
We booked this hotel because of the reviews, when we arrived we were not disappointed, it exceeded our expectations. My boyfriend had contacted the hotel manager and arranged an upgrade and champagne and a personal note when we arrived which was amazing. We could not of asked for more. We love eating out and there are two fantastic French restaurants close by. If you are going to Paris for a romantic trip, go to this hotel!!
“Best chic hotel in Paris”
We loved our stay. Hotel staff beyond friendly. Spoke English and French. Offered to help you with everything and anything. Hotel 2 blocks from metro that took only 20-30 mins to reach most tourist areas. Area of hotel is more residential so things close early but nice places for breakfast and lunch within 3 blocks. Room was awesome. We were early and were offered coffee and a room upgrade because we had to wait. I can't say enough good stuff about this hotel except to say that I would not stay anywhere else.
“way more than just a place to sleep and shower.”
this hotel actually enhanced our overall experience of paris. let's put it this way: after staying here for 3 nights, i am actually putting in the effort to log into expedia and write out this review because i feel this establishment deserves to be properly recognized. all 3 nights = excellent. i travel frequently and never without consulting tripadvisor, i insist you book here. most important: this hotel clearly values quality over budget. by far the best interior design i have encountered, obviously the result of a competent designer and a generous budget. there can be no comparison or complaint. very clean. very. high quality bedsheets. extremely comfortable bed. fantastic fantastic fantastic interior design. --> nice lighting. gorgeous winding staircase. great wallpaper. pleasant room carpeting. --> GREAT BATHROOMS. staff and service went above and beyond my expectations. close to the metro. very nice neighborhood. a multitude of shops. my boyfriend got stomach poisoning one night. the staff did literally everything short of performing Christ-like healing miracles. they arranged for a doctor to come to US. offered a new room so that we didn't have to risk any further contamination. & called the room/my cellphone periodically to ask if he was feeling better. seriously. go here. i'm a new yorker, an aesthetics snob and a woman with an irrational fear of germs. not once did i feel the need to wear socks in the room or flipflops in the shower. superb.
“Happy with our experiences”
This is a newly remodeled hotel. Everything is good with the exception of a very small room. The front desk is very helpful.
“Lovely”
Le Fabe was a lovely hotel to stay at. It's a little of the beaten path in Montparnasse but it was very close to the Plaissance Metro station so we were never far from the sights. It's a very new hotel so the condition is excellent and the room, while on the smaller side, was more than adequate and very comfortable. I was very pleasantly surprised at the size of the bathroom, much larger than typical in Paris. Even though this hotel is a little out of the way, it is worth considering since Montparnasse is a lovely area and we enjoyed strolling through the neighborhood. An additional bonus is that the cafes in the area are much more reasonable than in the more touristy parts of town.
“A hidden gem!”
Just so we're clear, this is not a 5 star hotel but, if you want somewhere comfortable, within easy commute of central Paris (15mins via the Metro to St Germain with local Metro station just 5 minutes walk away) and you want to avoid the usual tourist haunts and feel a bit more 'involved' in real parisian life then you can't do much better than Le Fabe! With reasonable sized, well kept rooms, clean towels on tap, and if you're lucky enough to be in a ground floor room, a proper coffee machine thrown in, this place is hard to beat. There are some good eateries within walking distance too (particularly La Cantine du Troquet) as well as some nice Boulangeries to call into for breakfast. From our experience the staff were amazing, with nothing being too much trouble, even trying to help us book venues to eat in before we'd arrived and helping us with our 'pronunciation' and other challenges. All this, and great value for money. So if you don't mind being out of the center of town then this place comes highly recommended.
