“A very good experience”
Great location exactly in front of the Gare du Nord, which allowed us to move from De Gaulle Airport by train instead of taxicab, a couple of blocks of the Gare de L'Est, with trains, buses, Metro, restaurants, and pubs at hand. Good breakfast available, very gentle personnel, and affordable prices. Our room was small, but comfortable. We would go back with no doubts.
“Ok for the price”
Kyriad's key feature is definitely the excellent location just 2 mn walk accross Gare du Nord and 10mn walk from Gare de l'Est. From Charles de Gaulle airport, just take RER-B to Gare du Nord. Excellent for short stays in the city or longer stays if you are on a budget. Many shops, restaurants and cafes around the hotel. Hotel room was clean, ready at noon as promised and hotel staff were helpful. Of course, this is Europe so rooms are rather small and the elevator can be tricky to maneuver if you are carrying large pieces of luggage. PC in lobby was not connected to the Internet but I could buy subscription for Wi-Fi in the room (of course VERY EXPENSIVE rates) Overall, you will definitely get your money's worth.
“Perfect for Eurostar”
The hotel is in an old building with restaurants on the first floor all around the block. The lobby is small but does the job well. So is the elevator (it took three trips to get us and our cases up (2 cases 2 people and carry ons). The room was clean and nicely decorated with a small but recently refitted bathroom. Everything worked. There was noise at around 1 am from the street but the drapes were thick so it was sufficiently muffled. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us to choose among the restaurants on the block. The cost of internet and breakfast was prohibitive but there is a MacD's around the corner for both. There is no luxury here and I can't image a week in a room this size but great as a travel stop on the way from England to somewhere else in France.
“Not impressed”
We have a big family so we needed two rooms. One room, we had big problems with the shower not draining. After the 3rd day of asking them to fix it and having the first attempt accomplish nothing, they switched us to another room. They ran out of cards for the internet before we got there and nearby internet cafes were full of people who didn't make us comfortable.
“2nd Stay - unhappy”
This was my second stay att he hotel. I felt it was worth another shot since it is so close to the train station with easy access to all of Paris and beyond. I was once again dissappointed with the service of the hotel. I would also say, once again, to remember that you get what you pay for. The hotel was renovated since my last stay but it was mostly cosmetic and cheaply done. The carpet was simply cut and laid and the edges were not trimmed or tacked down. The light in our room was hanging off the side of the wall with wires exposed and we were told it would not hurt anything. I would try to find another place in budget, but if all else fails you can sleep knowing your room is clean!
“A good 2 or 3 Star Hotel across fron Gare Du Nord”
"+": very close to Eurostar - London Train; Metro; Mcdonald's; My 5th floor room & bath was very clean, quiet & comfortable. "-": Small elevator; Breakfast is pricey @ E7.50 but it is an option; Would I use Hotel again? Definetly Yes.
