“Very elegant hotel”
The first day we arrived we had to stay in a room that was small and on the first floor which I specifically requested not to be on because they were fully booked (metro station is below this hotel so its better to stay on upper floors to avoid the noise of the train) how ever the next day they switched our room to a bigger much nicer room on the fifth floor with a wonderful view of the opera house! All in all we had a fabulous stay at this hotel! The staff was very kind courteous and professional. Everyone with the exception on the maids spoke English which was very convenient seeing as how we cannot speak French at all.
“A great landmark hotel in a perfect location”
Great location, historic landmark hotel. Needs some refurbisment but drawbacks may go unnoticed. Overall a very good hotel in a perfect location
“One Night in Paris”
Hotel was excellent, except for minor painting on fifth floor which was quickly finished. Awesome hotel, excellent location.
“Great hotel experience”
My husband and I loved our stay at the Intercontinental. The Concierge desk was very helpful with activities and reservations, and the hotel was beautiful. Loved how it is connected to Cafe de la Paix, and the lobby bar area is wonderful. Our room was also great - very French-feeling, which we loved (though it was quite small). Size aside, our stay was very pleasant and would definitely return to this hotel, and recommend it whole-heartedly. Note - we also found it walkable to many nearby monuments/attractions - very convenient location.
“A wonderful hotel. Will stay there again.”
This hotel was beautiful and the service great. I felt pampered. The staff spoke english so communication was not a problem. I would certainly recommend it to anyone. My Paris vacation was a dream vacation come true
“Excellant Hotel to stay.”
Excellant Hotel to stay.
“Exceeded our expectation! Lovely, throughout!”
Beautiful hotel, great location, excellent staff! Gracious, courteous & helpful at all times. Absolutely loved our stay & would definitely go back & stay in no other hotel. Truly grand!
“Great Hotel for a Romantic Weekend in Paris”
This is an exceptional hotel. We arrived at 6AM into Paris, they let us use the showers in the spa, held our luggage in a safe area while we visited the sights, and checked us in early when a room became available. The hotel is beautiful, great location, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Great experience for my wife and I. While we were there, a very large fashion show was going on in the city, and the hotel was full. They still had time to help us with restaurant suggestions, booking city tours, arranged for us to buy museum tickets without having to wait in line (The Louvre), and more. This was definitely one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
“Outstanding Hotel in Great Location”
Just before Christmas 2009 we had a great stay at this hotel in downtown Paris. Our only glitch with the hotel was that the first room they put us in had inadequate heat and hot water. The new room was spacious, luxurious and good in every way. Concierge was helpful, location was great, one block away from the Opera Metro station, and a block away from the Galleries Lafayette department store. There were good restaurants everywhere. Paris is different, and the exchange rate was not friendly when we were there. So a 7 Euro cup of coffee in the hotel lobby meant roughly a $10 cup of coffee each. There is a Starbucks within walking distance, and several other options. The subway lines served by the local Metro stop were good in that they took us pretty much everywhere we wanted to go without changing trains. The hotel was universally friendly and helpful - most people we dealt with spoke English - and when we got ready to leave, the Expedia fee had covered everything, which is not always the case in this day of "resort fees" and so forth. A beautiful hotel, one of the nicest I have ever stayed at, rival to the Waldorf Astoria in New York, and the package deal of airfare and hotel for six nights was surprisingly affordable. A great option for any traveler. My wife and I were very pleased to stay in such a fine hotel for our big anniversary.
“Superb Service at Le Grand”
The staff of the InterContinental is first class, especially the Concierge! The breakfast in the Café de la Paix is ridiculously overpriced. That is the ONLY negative.
