“Quiet spot in the Latin Quarter”
Entry is on a one-block, quiet street. Courtyard is lovely, filled with flower boxes, 4 or 5 stories up. The hotel staff is very helpful. Speaking French is not necessary. Short walk to Notre Dame and the Louvre. Area is teeming with restaurants. Breakfast is offered in the hotel, but it's also fun to try the local boulangeries. The rooms vary, but both of ours were very nice. One had more modern decor, while the other felt like a generously-sized attic getaway. The bathrooms are all modern. Thumbs up!
“Great accommodation”
Great location but out of the way of busy streets. Great ambiance and size, makes you feel like a valued guest. Reasonable value for the quality of the hotel, but, breakfast seemed overpriced.
“Quaint and full of history and character”
We loved our stay at the Relais Christine. The St. Germain de Pres area is a wonderful neighborhood to explore on foot to find interesting restaurants, cafes, and shopping. A great alternative to a large "urban" hotel that you can find iin almost every major city. Centrally located, you can walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre and the Musee D' Orsay. The rooms are small but impeccable, and the service is wonderful.
“Terrific stay”
Charming hotel in great location. Sole negative is breakfast room, downstairs. Too dark, and buffet not worth the cost. Otherwise, a charming, pretty hotel and fantastic location.
“What a disappointment”
We were extremely disappointed by the room: It was stark, dark, small and dingy. We thought this was going to be a very nice hotel because it was recommended and it was more expensive than most in the area. We were obviously disappointing by the room and they offered to show us an alternative, more expensive, room. We paid for an upgraded room because it was late and we had been traveling all day. The upgrade was expensive and the room was still barely acceptable, in fact it smelled of mildew. This hotel was dingy, worn, ugly and uncomfortable in stark contrast with the other two hotels we had booked during the trip and it was more expensive. For a little less, we stayed in the 1e at the Hotel Vendome and it was very comfortable, small but elegant, clean, well maintained and well lit. We explored other hotels in the area and found a great one around the corner with all the amenities you would expect for less money. How this hotel rates as one of the "Small Luxury Hotels of the world", I do not know.
