“Would absolutely stay there again”
The location could not be better. A five minute walk from the Louvre and the Museum d'Orsay and lots of eateries. And if you enjoy walking, you can reach the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysees and every other museum in Paris on foot from this hotel. Additionally, the Metro is only half a block away to get anywhere that you can't walk. The staff was very helpful in telling us how to get around and arranging reservations for a special dinner.
“too snooty for me”
The room was so small that I had to put my suitcase under the desk and my husband had to put his on top. No room for a luggage rack They gave us the smallest room on the floor. The phone didn't work. The maids didn;t show up to clean the room until after 4:30 when we were returning from a day of walking and wanted to rest - every day. Front desk always acted like they really wanted to be of service but then didnt do wha t you asked unless you stood there and watched that they did it. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING TO EAT OR DRINK. 7 EUROS FOR A COKE AND 44 EUROS FOR TWO SMALL CHOCOLATE ICE CREAMS - AND THOSE WERE NOT ROOM SERVICE PRICES- THIS WAS IN THE LOBBY BAR. Staff was constantly after you to spend money. Not helpful in getting cabs etc if it was busy out -we did better on our own. Wonderful location and comfortable bed but that was the only good part.
“expensive ... but typical of paris...not completly worth price but area was full for Fashion Week..”
dinning was a joke in hotel ... breakfast was a major rip off .... we ended just walking across street and having great coffee , eggs , and bread at street cafe.
“Fabulous location”
We would definately stay at Pont Royal when we return to Paris. The location is perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful
“Wonderful hotel in the heart of Paris!”
The Hotel Pont Royal was fabulous! The location was perfect, within walking distance of the Seine, the Louvre, D'Orsay, etc. The surrounding neighborhood included a wonderful bakery and lovely tea room. When I return to Paris I will again stay at this very nice, friendly hotel!
“Definitely a four-star Paris hotel!”
Excellent location on the Left Bank, 3 blks from river, 5-min walk to Louvre or Orsay. Classy entry into the hotel and very nicely appointed rooms. Loved the free use of nice-sized umbrellas for guests! The mattress and bathroom, which can be two wildcards at European hotels, were quite comfy and high quality. One day we stayed in bed for most of the day! As a business traveler in the States, I'm accustom to and picky about quality. I wouldn't hesitate to stay a Pont Royal again or recommend to anyone. Great choice and worth the value!
“Very impressed!”
We stayed for approximately 6 nights in early November. We were extremely impressed with the hotel itself but also the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in a great location and we were able to walk to almost all the attractions! If we travel to Paris again we will definately stay here again!
“Lovely hotel”
The hotel staff was generally friendly and helpful - especially Christophe the concierge who worked very hard to come up with appropriate dining suggestions and reservations. The room was comfortable and had large windows (relatively unusual in Paris) with a nice street view.
“Nice hotel”
The metro stop was not really convenient, but we discovered the bus (yay!). Rue du Bac was such a great street to be near, too. And our room faced the back, so it was quiet except for the Church bells. My husband and I walked or took the bus everywhere. We also went running in different neighborhoods, which is a terrific way of seeing Paris (this was our third trip). The staff was impeccable. Our room was small, but that's Paris, right? And the lobby is just what a lobby should be in Paris. Walking in that first day set the tone for the rest of our trip. Would definitely recommend this hotel, but it's not for anyone looking for a bargain. It was quite expensive.
“Our stay was a joy!!!”
My wife and I went to Paris for her 40th birthday and the Pont Royal made the stay such a pleasure. We were close to everything and the room was comfortable and clean. The entire staff was courteous and helpful. It will be our hotel every time we travel to Paris. Thanks for the great memories.
