This is a two star hotel

Posted 13-Feb-2014
The rooms are tiny, rooms have views of either the back of a building with peeling or the "upgraded" rooms have a view of the building across the alley. This hotel does not have any rooms with views of the park as the location might suggest. There was no concierge and no room service. The location is terrible. The carpet throughout the hotel is stained. The plumbing is poorly done. I recommend staying only at a US based hotel. The westin, Hyatt and crown plaza are all legitimate 3-4 star hotels. This hotel is a 2 star hotel and I think the way they present themselves is fraudulent.

Pretty good!

Pros: The room was very nice, comfortable, and classy with good heat and A/C. Room service was great, with limited menu but good food and service.
Location: Location was fantastic. Near the Louvre, D'Orsay Museum, Champs de Ellyse (sp ?), Jardin Tullierres, ferriswheel, Seine River and Rue de Rivoli...
My wife and I, and our daughter stayed in a junior suite. Nice room! We only had a view of a large light well. Not very much light and no view.

The room I was given is not the room I had seen on your website . So it upset me.And I have been a very loyal customer of your website and I start to question of the hotel room photos you present.

Fabulous Location, minutes from everything!!

Posted 9-Nov-2013
Pros: The location is amazing, minutes from The Louvre, Place de la Concorde, Tuileries Gardens, 2 minutes from 2 different metro stations and the Staff!
Cons: Personally, I would like a mirror & plugs above my dressing table! There is a hairdryer in the bathroom, but I like to get ready in my bedroom.
Location: Everything! 2 or 3 minutes walk to 2 metro stations, 5 minutes walk to the Place de La Concorde, the Louvre, opposite the lovely Tuileries Gardens...
I travelled with my 14 year old son for 1 week holiday trip to Paris in late October and we had a fantastic time here. The staff at the Mayfair were absolutely lovely from the moment we arrived, even though we were very early for check-in, they were delightful and put our bags in a locked secure area whilst we had a little wander around the local area (which was amazing). Sonia on reception could not have been more beautiful, smiley, helpful, interested and happy to us all the time (as all the staff were) and Ajit was so hard working and wonderful to us too, he took our bags for us and served us drinks at the bar (and chatted to us and made us very welcome all the time!) and served us breakfast a couple of times too, he was always smart, hard working, friendly and lovely. Indeed, every member of staff here were great, I just wish we could remember all their names! Need a restaurant recommendation or reservation? they are happy to help. Need to borrow an umbrella? no problem they have one. Older, Paris hotels are not known for being huge in square meters per room etc. so don't go for that! but if you want an amazing location and want to get the best out of your stay here, then talk to the staff, they are great! We did have some clothes laundered (back to us the same day even though not dropped off to reception until 10.00am and hanging in our wardrobe on our return) and they made restaurant reservations and so on for us too, so well done to the staff at The Mayfair from us!
