“Loved it.”

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms and the bathrooms are quite large by Paris standards. The breakfasts are unbelievably generous. Anytime we needed directions or help of any kind, everyone was very generous with their time. They were also quite well-informed about events in the city. We were there during the snowy week before Christmas, and everything was super..

“Great Hotel”

Myself and my partner stayed 2 nights and were very happy with our choice. The hotel is ideal for eurostar travellers. It was a ten minute walk from the station. There is a tube station a matter aminutes away whci takes you into the centre of Paris with just one change. The hotel itself was clean, the service very friendly. the breakfast is typical of continental breakfasts. The food was nice, the cofee great and the juice fresh. For eating out theres is a small bar opposite which does ideal bar meals. For something a bit more special try the italian nearby. turn right out of the hotel and cross the road at the lights. Don't be put off with the tacy neaon italian light sign. The restaurant is very nice inside. A bit pricey but well worth it. We had a bottle of wine 2 3 course meals all for under 100 euros, not bad for eating out in Paris. All in all a great hotel to stay in, don't be put off with the main road we stayed on the 6th floor and couldn't hear the traffic.

“Great value with convenient access to metro”

Good location, close to Gare de l'Est for convenient access to major metro lines, easy walk to Montmartre. We stayed for a week - our room was small but recently updated and clean with a comfy bed and good shower, all that mattered to us! Wi-Fi service was free, fast and reliable. The included buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day: sausage and eggs, fresh bread with cold cuts and cheese, cereal, yogurt, and pastries. Lift was a little slow and quirky but we were used to walking and took the stairs most of the time.

“Thoroughly recommended”

Just spent four nights in a Premium Double and really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was clean and smart, breakfast was great, staff were friendly and helpful... and the bed was super comfy! Only slight negative was that the room was a bit on the small side. Didn't affect our stay though, as we weren't spending that much time in there anyway! Was slightly wary of the fact that it's on such a busy road, but it didn't bother us at all, even though our room looked right out over it. Only ten minutes walk from Gare Nord, five minutes from Gare de l'Est. Two minutes to the nearest Metro (Jacques Bonsergent) but we often found it easier just to walk up to Gare de l'Est, which is where many lines run through, so you can get to all the sights directly, rather than having to change. There are two supermarkets close by, plus a couple of boulangeries, and a small 24hr store (right outside Jacques Bonsergent Metro).

“Worked for us!”

It is not a centrally located hotel, (as in near the Eiffel Tower), however, we found it very convenient as we were only 5 mins. from the Metro stop. It's easy to use. Get a 2 day ticket which covers as many trips as you like, if you are there for more than 2 days. Within walking distance to Gare du'Nord and Gare L'Est. Plenty of Bistro's in neighbourhood. The breakfast was adequate. Continental breakfast. We paid for a Superior room which had a king sized bed. However, the room was very small and only enough room around the bed to squeeze along. No room for us to leave a suitcase open! We did have our own shower and toilet which is a great thing! Very clean. If you get a room overlooking the street, it is quite noisy as it's a busy street if you leave the window open. It is air conditioned so quiet with the window closed. We had no problem sleeping. The receptionist was very helpful with maps, etc. There is a luggage room to leave your things if you are early. For the price it was good.

“Would stay here again”

We actually had to get two rooms for our family of four. Fortunately, they were able to give us rooms that were next to each other. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast, which was included, was the usual pastries, cereal, eggs, ham, etc. The only fruit was canned fruit cocktail, which was disappointing, but otherwise everything was fine. The only warning I have is that the elevator often didn't work (you have to remember that these are old buildings, though). Luckily, it did when we needed to take our bags up to our fourth floor rooms the first day, but often had to climb the stairs after that. If you don't have a problem with that, this is a great place to stay. Metro stops were a short walk in either direction.

“Nice place”

A hidden treasure just a few minutes walking from the Gare de l'Est. A high quality place with very reasonable pricing. Lots of North African places to eat nearby, too.

“Hotel Magenta: oasis of cool calm next to gares du nord & l'est”

Great to find a low price, stylish hotel in the centre of Paris with friendly and helpful reception staff. After a number of bad or at best mediocre hotel experiences in Paris, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Best place I've ever stayed in the city in this budget range.
