“Really nice Hotel!”
Great Hotel!!! They have free Wifi internet, which is cool! And are near a metro station! Great attention!
“Not as conventient as I had hoped.”
Hoped that I would be within easy walking distance of the RER to the airport, but wasn't really. The place was good enough, but you can do a lot better for the money. The neighborhood was busy with traffic and little else so we had to walk some distance to find a good restaurant.
“Decent for the price”
We booked this hotel mostly because we needed somewhere to stay immediately after arriving in Paris via Thalys train. From that point of view, the location was great (short walking distance from Gare du Nord and Gare de l'est). The hotel itself was nothing amazing, but not a negative experience. The room was a fair size (maybe even large for a European room), the bathroom was decent, and the room setup was okay. The hotel was decently clean, I was not disappointed, though everything seemed a tad "worn" and "old". The bathroom and bed were both clean and comfortable enough. The service was quite good, though we didn't have any real demands or special requirements; still the gentlemen at the front desk were polite and pleasant (and spoke very good English). A word of advice, the location is extremely noisy. Paris in general is a very noisy city (constant sirens, constant loud scooters and motorbikes), and this hotel is on a pretty major street so the street noise continues well into the late hours of the night. Light sleepers should definitely consider staying elsewhere or sleep with ear plugs. I couldn't seem to get any real temperature control working so we also slept with the windows wide open, which obviously exacerbated the noise. To summarize, the hotel is good, not great, not poor, and probably offers decent value (hotels in Paris can be very expensive for not much more than the Magenta offers).
“Nice place”
A hidden treasure just a few minutes walking from the Gare de l'Est. A high quality place with very reasonable pricing. Lots of North African places to eat nearby, too.
“Worked for us!”
It is not a centrally located hotel, (as in near the Eiffel Tower), however, we found it very convenient as we were only 5 mins. from the Metro stop. It's easy to use. Get a 2 day ticket which covers as many trips as you like, if you are there for more than 2 days. Within walking distance to Gare du'Nord and Gare L'Est. Plenty of Bistro's in neighbourhood. The breakfast was adequate. Continental breakfast. We paid for a Superior room which had a king sized bed. However, the room was very small and only enough room around the bed to squeeze along. No room for us to leave a suitcase open! We did have our own shower and toilet which is a great thing! Very clean. If you get a room overlooking the street, it is quite noisy as it's a busy street if you leave the window open. It is air conditioned so quiet with the window closed. We had no problem sleeping. The receptionist was very helpful with maps, etc. There is a luggage room to leave your things if you are early. For the price it was good.
“Great Magenta!”
The hotel is located close to Gare de l'Est/du Nord - about 15 minutes walking. It is also close to the metro. If you have large luggage it;s actually easier to walk from the station than to take the metro to the hotel, because there are no elevators to the metro tracks. Hotel Staff was very friendly and helpful upon check-in and later. The room was very mall, much smaller than in photos but we got used to it. There is coffee and tee in the room, and a small fridge. To get the AC to work all windows have to be closed. Breakfast is repetative but convenient (cereal, yogurt, bread, croissant, sweet rolls, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, sausages, ect.). We would definitely stay there again.
“It's definantly MAGENTA!”
I was very satisfied with this hotel. VERY helpful staff. Nice little breakfast. Good location near metro. My room was much smaller than I imagined but it worked out fine.***The only problem I had was In the late afternoon I tried to turn on the A/C and it wouldn't work. So I called the front desk and told him and I was informed that yes as advertised they DO have A/C but they don't turn it on until the first of May! I was here in mid-April. It was too hot not to give me the choice of A/C. There was a fan to circulate the room. The first night was rough! If they changed that I would stay here again!
“Can't wait to plan my next trip!”
The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel was very clean. Very close to metro and walked every where.
“CORRECTION!”
I wrote a negative review of this hotel — detailing issues with heating and service — and it was the wrong hotel! (Too many hotels in too few nights). This hotel is a fine hotel in the location. A good breakfast was included, which was a plus. I would definitely stay at this property again.
“Loved it.”
We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms and the bathrooms are quite large by Paris standards. The breakfasts are unbelievably generous. Anytime we needed directions or help of any kind, everyone was very generous with their time. They were also quite well-informed about events in the city. We were there during the snowy week before Christmas, and everything was super..
