“Boutique Hotel near Gare de Lyon Station”
Chose hotel due to its location to the Gare de Lyon station. Small, but very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was nicely decorated with good size tub! Staff was very friendly and accomodating to all of our needs as well.
“Great location on a quiet street”
The people at the reception were super nice. Breakfast was pretty good, too (coffee or tea, mini-croissants and pains au chocolat, bread, ham, creamy fromage blanc and canned fruit, cereal, milk and orange juice). My room was clean, bathroom was nice. The air conditioning didn't work very well in my room, so it was a little hot in my room, even after I turned it all the way down. I'd stay there again! Great value for the location
“Not impressed”
Not impressed , the hotel's room has tired look , old but you don't feel any "old charm", just dated. If you'd like to stay there you should know the Number of metro's exit - it's 1 , because there are like 10 or 20 of them ! And wondering around with your luggage is not fun. The area itself - it's close to river which is nice , but other then that is just area around big train station.
“Dont Go”
Poor Hotel and Room Condition... Better stay next store Holiday Inn or Novotel...
“Good Hotel”
I was very comfortable here and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke very good English but I preferred to speak French which they were patient enough to endure. The room was very clean and comfortable but be ready for a very early housekeeping call(between 8 and 9 am. for me) which was sometimes too early but they would leave and come back later if so. The location was excellent for me as it was only minutes walking from the Bastille which is a good starting point for walking anywhere in Paris. Gare de Lyon is two blocks away and from there you can access the metro system. The beginning of the Quais is a short distance away also and makes for a wonderful walk of about a half hour to the centre of Paris along the Seine River.
“Convenient, Clean and quiet”
This hotel was a great find a block away from Le Gare de Lyon. There were restaurants nearby and the hotel staff was very helpful with recommendations. The beds were good and the bath spacious. The chairs could have been a bit more substantial especially if you want to sit at the desk for a while working. Windows were big letting in plenty of light even if there were many scenic views from them.
“Good For The Price”
Hotel Lyon Bastille is a small affordable hotel, just two minutes from Gare Lyon which is both a TGV train station and Metro station. The staff were quite pleasant and helpful and all the front desk staff could speak English. We checked in late and that did not seem to be a problem. You have to take your bags to your room and you go up in a very small elevator. The rooms are small with nice clean bathrooms. The only complaint I had with the rooms is that they seemed a bit dark. The rooms are mainly for sleeping and not for entertaining or hanging out in. Hey, you are in Paris so why stay in your hotel room?
“perfect location for tourists.”
This hotel is located in centre of Paris and very close to train and metro stations. It's easy to find it. Good area for dining.
“convenient and inexpensive”
I stayed 7 nights while attending a meeting at the University of Paris VII, a 45 minute walk which I enjoyed. Despite its location in a busy area, it was quiet, as long as the air conditioning worked so the window was closed. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was out for the last 3 days of my stay. The breakfast was very good. There was no shower curtain for the bath/shower. The cable connecting the telephone was loose, but I only needed to use the telephone twice and could hold it on. While small, the room had all the essentials.
“A Good Deal”
It was a good budget hotel. The staff was very nice, and the breakfast was really satisfying. The interior of the room was not showroom new. I'd compare it to a Motel 6 in America, but the location was convenient (right next to the Gare de Lyon metro station) and the area felt vaguely safe. The Bastille area is quite energetic and it's just a couple of blocks away from the hotel down Rue de Lyon. But it's still quite a walk away from big attractions like Notre Dame and The Eiffel Tower. So, if you plan to stay out LATE, after the metro closes, and don't want to cab it, you may want to plan for a different area. Also, you have to leave your key with the front desk each time you leave the hotel during your stay. Not reallly inconvenient, but it's the first time I've had to do this at a hotel.
