“Fantastic place to stay...”
There were no reviews when we booked and I was reluctant but this was a wonderful hotel full of Parisian charm and wonder. It is in need of repair but we secured a room with a view - of the Eiffel Tower and it was magical especially when the Tower twinkles on the hour. Ask for room 61! The lift is a little small and slow but the stairs are easy to climb. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The location is excellent - close to the metro.
“WELL WORTH THE PRICE :)”
HOTEL We arrived in Paris at the hotel around 09:00 in the morning and were told that the room would not be ready until 14:30, but luckily we were allowed to leave our luggage with reception until the room was ready. After some sight seeing we returned to the hotel, all our luggage was fine, and we were given our room key. Oh by the way you have to leave your room key with reception every time you leave the hotel, but not to worry there was always somebody there to let you in at any hour. ROOM All in all the hotel room was fine, small but enough room for the two of us. The room was clean and further cleaned everyday by room service. The bed was fine and an extra blanket was provided in the wardrobe for cold nights, the bath room was small but all appliances worked well, I would say the shower curtain probably needs a change. There was a working TV with a verity of channels and we had a nice balcony but not exactly the best view. ALSO I must add that the walls are paper thin, you can hear everything!!! STAFF Friendly helpful staff including the lovely room service ladies, bless them. The morning man at reception was very friendly he gave us a map of Paris and marked all the must see locations. Additionally the night reception man was also very friendly providing us with clear instructions on how to reach the Paris night club we were heading to. PARIS Oh Paris I miss already, people actually smile there unlike my city. Paris we'll meet again someday.
“Nice hotel, very convenient”
Hotel is located not far from the metro, very convenient. Nice staff, always helpful even though English is not perfect. There are lots of restaurants around. Fresh croissants and juice are great in the morning. Clean.
“Leos”
That was good place.-)
“Much better than I expected from previous reviews.”
No Hilton, but great rate, reasonably clean for an European two star hotel and such an old building, and very convenient location. Will definitely use it again for short weekend stays.
“A great stay.”
The hotel might be old, but I think it adds flavor to your stay in Paris. The rooms are a little small, but that is normal for the area. Everything was clean and I had no issues to report. The staff at the hotel were always nice and friendly. The hotel is within walking distance to many great restaurants and bars. I highly recommend this hotel.
“Location, quality and price”
This hotel is extremely close to public transportation. The hotel is in the heart of the "quartier Republique" which is only a few stops from any major tourist attractions. Good value for your dollar and many places to eat, shop or drink in the area (yes, Mc Donalds is right there as well). The staff is helpful; they actually have complimentary maps and borchures. If you not finicky or need pampering but want to be close to everything, this hotel will fit your needs.
“Not fancy, but not bad”
A good hotel for those on a budget and for people who just need a good place to crash. Good location: a short walk to the Republique Metro station, which is on 5 of Paris's Metro lines. Good boulangeries nearby. Definitely an older hotel; I couldn't use my hair dryer because there were specific instructions not to plug in anything other than an electric razor. No A-C. Staff friendly and multilingual.
“Good value”
This hotel is excellent value, and only two metro stops from the Gare du Nord. Rooms very quiet and staff really helpful. Also free internet.
“near Place de Republic”
This is a well maintained hotel conveniently located near Place de Republic. This is a convenient location, a half hour walk to the Louvre, the Opera or Notre Dame. It is a three stop metro ride from Gare du Nord or a 15 minute walk. The staff are helpful. There are many restaurants in the area. My favorite is La Petite Rose des Sables around the corner. It is a small six table bistro run by a friendly couple, rather like dining in a private home. The large plats are under 10 euros with inexpensive wine.
