“Comfortable enough, can recommend for price”

It is a basic hotel, clean and cosy. No air conditioning, but there was a column fan available for use. Located in a quiet street, easy walk to the Alesia metro station. Unusual collection of kitch in the room, makes it charming

“Disappointing.”

First, some good points. The staff is very friendly and made us feel welcome and at ease. The neighborhood is clean and safe and residential and within about 5 blocks are many local stores, cafes and restaurants. The flowering plantings on the street front, unusual for Paris, were a refreshing touch. I've stayed in a number of 2 star hotels in this part of Paris. This one was more shoddy than most. The old and dark foyer, stairs and rooms are almost ominous. In the room the wall paper was peeling back from the wall in places. The beds were almost antiques and not very comfortable. The reading lights hung from nails and fell off when bumped. However, the "bathroom" was based on a drop-in module added to the room in a partial remodel, and was quite modern and satisfactory. The WiFi worked very well. The staff did a fine job of cleaning - though in such a dark room it was hard to tell.
