“Excellent economy hotel - Real Bang for your buck!”
Pros: 1. Good Clean Rooms with a nice French decor at a very good price 2. Walkable distance to/from Gare Du Nord train station (London trains). 3. Short subway trip to the main Paris attractions. Use either La Chapelle or Stalingrad subway lines for commute. 4. Close to the RATP RER lines for easy commute to/from CDG/ORY airports 5. WiFi available with good speed 6. English speaking and friendly staff 7. Good breakfast menu at a reasonable price. 8. If you have purchased La'Open bus tours you can hop on/hop off at Gare Du Nord on the yellow bus tour route Cons: 1. Relatively Small rooms (which seems to be the 'Norm' in European cities) 2. No AC or Fan at least at the time of my stay in my room (summer 2011) 3. Not 'right in the middle' of Paris attractions but close if you are willing to take the subway 4. Average Neighborhood - certainly not the best in Paris but at the same time not the worst!! 5. No Safe/Locker option available in the room Bottomline - I had a good experience with the room and the staff despite certain 'cons' which I could easily get over.
“it's good place to stay, near gare du nord”
small hotel but very good clean and in the good location very close to metro station, not too busy neighbourhood
“Great Staff”
The room was small but not too small and it was a lot plainer than the photos shown; however, the staff was very nice and multilingual, which makes up for a lot. They watched over my luggage all day in the lobby which was very helpful as I arrived very early.
“Value for money”
This is a pleasant hotel with helpful and friendly staff (although one cleaner was actually quite rude). The room I stayed in was nice and spacious enough for one- although if I had been with my boyfriend I think we would have found it very cramped indeed! The road on which the hotel is on was a lot more noisy than I was expecting, with traffic noise, accompanied by exhaust fumes if I left my window open, all through the night. And this was one issue I had: The room in which I stayed had no air conditioning and yet I could not kp a window open. This would only however be a problem if the weather was hot. Another thing I would flag up is that there is at present some demolition work being undertaken extremely near to the hotel, and that although this did not really bother me I imagine it could get to be a lot more of an inconvenience.
“A Pleasing 8 Night Stay!”
My boyfriend and I stayed here on vacation for 8 nights. Were both in our early 20s, and selected this hotel based on the price. We were pleasantly surprised with Hotel Bellevue! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and created a welcoming atmosphere saying hello and goodbye to us when we left and returned to the hotel. The staff is multilingual- I heard the day-time receptionist speak French, English and Spanish. The hotel is in an older building, but it’s well maintained. Our room on the 6th floor was simple, but we had a closet with hangers and plenty of shelves. The room was cleaned everyday and we were given fresh towels. It’s lacking in the modern amenities we appreciate at American hotels – minifridge, iron, etc. but this was expected. We found no issue with the neighborhood – it’s not the most glamorous arrondissement but we never felt unsafe! Marx Dormoy (line 12) and La Chapelle (line 4) are about equidistant from the hotel. There are more shops and restaurants at Marx Dormoy, but line 4 is more accessible to other metro lines. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a no-frills, inexpensive, clean place to leave your bags, sleep, and use the internet (free wifi!).
“Good hotel for good price”
A great paris hotel for a good price. Pretty easy acces to metro station. Very welcoming staff. Rooms are pleasant and what you may expect, but we certainly would use again.
“Nice hotel but not a great area”
This hotel is convenient to Montmatre but not in the best area. There is a lot of graffiti and people hanging about. Doesn't feel all that safe but the hotel and staff were quite nice and it was cheap so it's a pity about the area really. Walking distance to the Gard Du Nord and only 5 mins walk to LaChapelle. I stayed with my sister and we were fine though but next time I think I would look for somewhere in a nicer area.
“Very small room - not impressed”
There is no air conditioning and the room was small. The bathroom was very tiny. We traveled at the same time as a group of our friends and they stayed not far from us in the Montmartre area at a Holiday Inn and had a great experience for about the same price (I think they paid a bit more but definitely worth it). We drove in and had a parking garage down the street that was 20 Euros per day. Keep looking - you can find better.
“GoodHotel”
This was a good hotel with very efficient, friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was very good and the coffee machine especially delightful. If you are in Paris for a short stay and want a good basic hotel for a reasonable price, then this hotel is just fine. We felt that it represented a good value for what we paid. The area is definitely culturally diverse and not particularly attractive, but did not cause us any concerns. It was reasonably close to the Gare du Nord, which was a plus.
“Good for Montmartre”
The reception area and breakfast room were smart and nicely decorated, however our room was in need of redecoration. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was really good. This hotel is well located for visiting Montmartre which is about a fifteen minute walk. Also the Chappelle Metro station was a couple of minutes walk. The Chappelle Metro station has underground links to the Gare De Nord which has many lines running through for easy access to other parts of Paris. The neighbourhood felt slightly intimidating in the evening as there were groups of men hanging around the Rue De Chappelle, although we did not experience any problems. We really enjoyed visiting Montmartre in the evening. Loveley atmosphere near the Sacre Coer and the Place De Terte.
