“Good value, basic hotel. Will be even better when it's finished.”

The hotel is currently (Feb 2008) undergoing a refurb, not before time. Our room had been redone and was fresh and clean. However, the work was unfinished, it was slightly disoncerting to have wires poking out of the walls on the landing and painter's scaffolds blocking the stairwell. The staff were friendly but not very effective, we were offered another room but decided to take our chances upstairs. But the breakfast was fine, the location is great as you can get off the Eurostar, check in and be en-route to your first Paris desination in 15 minutes and the place does have it's own charm.

“Pour une prochaine visite, je reprendrais cet hotel”

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les petites attentions de délicatesses pour nos enfants surtout pour le petit déjeûner.

“What i expected! Cheap & basic”

This hotel was very close to the Gare du nord station so the location is ideal. The reception staff are very nice and efficient although the complimentary breakfast leaves a bit to be desired. The hotel is not a new building and it had a bit of a retro 70's feel. We had slept in and only just made it to the breakfast and there were no croissants left only bread and jam and very little coffee. We were not even offered any food from the kitchen staff who were not at all friendly and just appeared to want to leave. I would stay here again for its location but will make sure i get up early if i want breakfast!!!

“Good value and a convenient location”

Friendly staff. We arrived before check-in time but the manager let us drop off our suitcases. Nice all-you-can-eat breakfast. Room was small but comfortable. Bathroom very small, but nice shower. Facilities adequate (one bedside light not working). There were tables but no drawers. Street outside was noisy at night (with window open) but you could get used to it. Nice to have a balcony (grille). Location very convenient, with Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est both two minutes' walk away. Room cleaned every day, and we left money lying around with no problems! Overall, good value for money.

“Excellent location”

Hotel d'Amiens is ideal for anyone arriving and departing from Paris via Eurostar and the Gare du Nord. The room itself was fine, comfortable bed and adequate bathroom. The corridors and stairs are in need of refurbishment. The street was much quieter than I had expected, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.

“Adequate hotel - terrible location!”

The hotel was satisfactory for a 2-nght stay, but because of its location I would not advise single women to stay there. The room was typically Parisian, clean but spartan. Breakfast was included in the price and was surprisingly good. Staff were helpful and courteous.

“friendly and functional”

Booked hotel due to it's proximity to Gard Du Nord station. Hotel looks a bit shabby around the edges and the rooms are nothing to write home about. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. No air-con so the front rooms can get noisy with your window open. But for the rates and location it's hard to fault.

“Basic but clean”

The rooms and breakfast are basic, but this is expected given the price. The breakfast area is pleasant and the rooms clean. The staff are friendly and speak English very well. The location is excellent - very close to the Gare du Nord and a short walk to Monmartre and some fantastic bistros.

“Very good for the price, great location.”

Great location near la Gare du Nord (straight off Eurostar), basic prices, basic room, basic breakfast. Just what you need if you are exploring Paris and not spending much time in the hotel.

“Basic but perfectly acceptable accommodation”

We only used the hotel as somewhere to rest out heads at night, and it was perfectly suited to our needs. Very close to both the North and East train stations, it was easy to get around Paris from this location. Rooms were basic but functional, regularly cleaned, breakfast was very basic continental. We would stay there again, but if you are expecting the Ritz, then go and book the Ritz!
