“Superb, excellent hotel in a great location”
This hotel is great all round, although please note the classic rooms only have a shower, we asked if there was a room free with a bath, due to my bad back and were upgraded straight away. The staff were all brilliant, and while we were there the comp umbrellas helped tremendously. The italian restaurant nearby was great, and the area was full of shops/cafe, 20min walk to Concorde, 10 min to Sacre Coeur, no need for the metor if you like walking and seeing all the hidden treasures. The rooms are very modern and comfortable and more importantly very clean.
“We would definitely recommend this hotel”
The hotel was a 5-10 minute walk from the train station. It was very clean, modern and quiet. It is a little far from the sites such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, however, we did walk the first day and it took us about 30min to walk to the Eiffel Tower. We started using the Subway after that and it was quiet convenient. Paris is very expensive and this hotel for the price and the location was a good choice
“hotel Champlaim, Paris excellent”
L hotel est tres acceuillant, a 15 minutes a pied de la place Clichy , Galerie Lafayette ect... chambre confortable,
“Really good hotel - perfect actually”
I wasn't expecting much, as I was used to "three stars" or "four stars" in London being often very cramped and underwhelming. However, his hotel was a pleasant surprise. Fantastic for business travellers, couples or singles (who have saved up!), this hotel is highly recommended. Breakfast and Wifi are expensive, however this is expected from this type of up-market hotel. Enjoy your stay!
“Very Impressed”
Very friendly staff on arrival and very helpful reception throughout. Location within 5 mins walk of metro (stop - rome) and about 10 mins walk from Gare St Lazare. Not right in the centre but nice looking bars/restaurants/shops round the corner and easy access. Quiet and comfortable room if a little small. Had a bath too! Didn't bother with the breakfast at 16 euros though, much better to go to one of the local patisseries.
“Boutique hotel in great location”
The Hotel Champlain Paris is in a great, non-touristy location with a great selection of restaurants, coffee shops, creperie, & markets within 1 block on Rue des Dames. The Rome M2 metro stop is 2 short blocks from the hotel which gives you easy access to all of the Paris attractions & Gar Du Nord.
“Paris Fall Fashion Week Trip”
This was a really great hotel for the price and location. It has marble bathrooms, which were very nice and a good size. Of course, the room is extremely small compared to U.S. standards, but for Paris, it is such a great find! It was clean and comfortable, and they even have flat screen TVs. The only thing we had an issue with was that the maids woke us up early every morning attempting to clean our room, but we just wanted to sleep in. Then, they would come back 20 min. later knocking again. One day, a manager or someone who worked there actually walked into our room, because my husband forgot to deadbolt it after getting the paper, and she said she needed to check the mini bar stock. I thought it was pretty rude to just barge in when we were in there. What if we weren't dressed yet?! That was the only thing that really annoyed me. They don't have "do not disturb" signs at hotels in Europe, so I had to actually make one and write a very nice note in French so they would stop waking us up! I think they got the hint after that. Otherwise, it's a great location in the music district, lots of instrument and piano shops, very safe and very close to the main metro lines, which is great.
“Really Great Hotel for its price!”
My friend and I were backpacking Europe and found this hotel at a super good price. This was the nicest out of all of the hotels we stayed in Europe. The staff is friendly and speaks English and the hotel is close to the Metro, which was very convenient for us. Also, its situated in a more local part of town, which is nice because there aren't many tourists but you get to see real Paris living.
“Great Choice”
I was extremely pleased with this hotel. The front desk was helpful. The room was clean and new. I'm very selective about cleanliness and I was extremely comfortable here. It was air conditioned, which I was not expecting. However, I'm so fortunate it was air conditioned as it was July and very hot. The neighborhood had many stores, shops and restaurants within walking distance. Yet, it is removed from the more touristy destinations. The Metro was just two short blocks up the street. It provided quick and convenient transportation to everywhere I wanted to go.
“Enjoyed the stay!!”
Enjoyed the stay. Close to the "Rome" metro station (5 min walk); A major plus point if you are visiting Paris. Clean rooms and comfortable stay at the the hotel. Friendly, English speaking staff, although we were disappointed on two occasions: (1) did not receive one wake up call, and (2) did not receive travel information to visit Normandy that was promised by the front desk. Other then that, it is a nice clean hotel and I would recommend it to my fellow travelers.
