“Very pleasant stay”
Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly. Location is great!
“Fine Hotel for the Price”
Relatively inexpensive hotel considering the location 5 minutes walk from Place de la Bastille. No elevator, rooms are small, but clean and adequate for the amount of time you'll spend in the room. The neighborhood is mostly commercial - an Office Depot is in the same block, and some lovely plumbing fixtures are visible along the boulevard walking to the subway . Lots of good neighborhood cafes, shops and other facilities, and the wonderful market every Sunday and Thursday is two blocks away.
“Convenient Hotel for a Budget Traveler in Paris”
Good price for what we got- relatively convenient, just hop on the subway to get to anywhere you need to get in Paris. The Paris transport system is fairly user friendly. The hotel itself was decent- the room was bigger than I had expected, because I heard hotel rooms in Paris are usually tiny. We only stayed 2 nights, but it was a good spot to stay that was just a few subway stops from most sights, and a reasonable price!
“un peu déçu”
rénovation à prévoir car vieillot. bon pour passer une nuit sans être trop regardant sur la decoration. literie à revoir car trop usagée voire inconfortable.
“Not horrible, but not great”
My expectations weren't high; it is a 2 star hotel and I'm familiar with Paris. The staff was very helpful and kind. The bathroom was clean, as were the sheets; 2 things that are important for me. In general, I was comfortable. On the other hand, the reading lights on the bed didn't work; and it probably was just a case of changing the light bulbs; this was a matter of neglect. Also, the shower was pitiful. There was clearly the means to mount the detachable shower head to take a true shower, but the hardware had not been replaced to make this so; also neglect. This is not a bad hotel per say, but don't overpay: it is what it is...a 2 star hotel in Paris.
“Great value & strategic location”
Quiet, clean and close to several metro stations. Great stop over location between England and Italy by rails.
“Good place on a tight budget”
There is nothing wrong with the hotel, apart from it being extremely cheap. The furniture is very shabby, and the toilet seat is falling off. However, it is clean, the staff friendly; new TV, fridge and safe box are brand new, and the location is great. If you are on a budget, and don't plan to spend too much time in the hotel - this may be a place for you.
“A Place To Sleep”
Do not expect a lot more than a place to sleep from this hotel. The neighbor hood and location are great but the hotel itself is old and in need of updates. Our bathroom was roomy but there was a hole in the ceiling to access water pipes - cosmetic things that detract from the atmosphere of the place. Our room was relatively clean and we slept comfortably but it was not a place I wanted to hang out in more than necessary. There is a park directly across the street where you can access free wifi through the city of Paris which was helpful. There is a grocery store next door and there are lots of places to eat near by with reasonable prices. The price was right for the neighborhood, looking at other nearby hotels - their cost was double so if you want to go cheaper, no frills, but comfortable - this is the place for you.
“Budget Hotel”
The hotel was old but fairly well maintained. It was in a good location. Nice little neighborhood and close to the metro station. The bathroom was a bit shabby and the tub was high off the floor which made it difficult to get in and out of. There was a large window that opened so we got fresh air. The stairs were a little narrow and steep and the first floor was on the second level so you would definitely be on an upper floor.
“Good deal, but don't expect more than you pay for.”
This was everything you'd expect in a cheap Parisian hotel, but slightly better. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and pleasant, but the housekeepers don't deserve as much credit. They had problems with people staying in their rooms until 10 a.m. I stayed for 17 nights and had to request that the sheets be changed halfway through the stay...I had to change them myself. There were little details all throughout the stay that slowly pitted me against the housekeepers. Then again, it didn't matter because a hotel in Paris is just a place to sleep, shower, and store luggage.
