“Smallest bathroom in 20 years of travel”
If you arrive with the expectation of a step up from a hostel (bathroom inside the room) you will not be disappointed. It is budget hotel. I was unable to use the toilet but had to sit sideways due to the very limited room between the toilet and shower. Unable to wash below my knees in the shower since unable to bend over in the shower. (have to open the door to bend). Good things: sheets were clean, plenty of water pressure with hot water and the heat in the room worked.
“Easy and Clean”
The front desk staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, all spoke English (which helps for those of us who are horrible with other languages). The surrounding area is busy but the sound of the streets are concealed by the high quality windows in the hotel. There are two metro stations within a few blocks along with great bakeries and restaurants. My husband and I will stay there again. The rooms are small, bathrooms VERY small, but comfortable for a couple. The room rate was appropriate.
“Paris on a Budget”
The weekend-night staff is extremely nice. The guy gave us tips on how to survive Paris. He told us about tourist traps and gave advice on which tourist sites to visit on which days (Versailles is closed on Monday, the Louvre is busiest on Wednesdays). This guy was extremely nice and made the stay in this budget hotel worthwhile! The hotel itself is not amazing. It's good for a traveller on a budget. It's located about 2 blocks from the Volitaire station which allows access to all the major sites around Paris. The rooms are tiny but I've budget travelled around Europe and found that most budget rooms are tiny. They serve breakfast in the morning for an extra fee. There is wireless, but it's not guaranteed to work. This hotel location is good for an "authentic Paris" experience. This is not a high tourist area so you can experience or get an idea of what real Parisian life is like.
“Very small and uncomfortable”
The room and bed were super small, and the mattress was deformed and uncomfortable. The wi-fi didn't work in our room (at the end of the narrow hallway) and the people at the front desk didn't consider this a major problem. There is no air conditioning and the room is very stuffy at the end of a hot day. The night front desk guy was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located, near two subway stations, a nice grocery store, and a police station.
“Perfect for anyone on a budget”
My sister and I were pleasantly surprised to find the staff very polite, nice and helpful and willing to speak English! The rooms were small but efficient. We really liked having a big window in the bathroom. There is a flat-screen TV with several french and international channels. There is a metro stop nearby and several grocery stores and restaurants. The neighborhood was quite quiet and safe at night. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a cheap comfortable stay in Paris.
“Just what we wanted for an inexpensive Parisien hotel.”
The location was great and the price was terrific. The nighttime receptionist was EXTREMELY nice and helpful.
“Definitely stay there again”
My husband and I chose this hotel for its price and location, and were extremely happy with our choice. Our room was not large or luxurious by American standards, but all we wanted was a place to come home at night and sleep. Our room had a bath/shower, and there was always plenty of hot water. It was quiet at night and very comfortable. There is an elevator, and while it is extremely slow, it is dependable. The hotel is conveniently located, mid-way between 2 metro stops, each about 3 blocks away. There are many cafes close by; a grocery store about a half block to the South; a small department store about 2 blocks to the North; fantastic Chocolate/Pastry Shops close to each metro stop; and the Cemetery Pere LaChaise is about a 10 minute walk to the East. The staff was helpful and spoke some English. Breakfast was excellent, but cost extra.
“Great Deal for the Money”
The hotel is in a great location, close to two metro stations. The service was good and the staff were very helpful and friendly, and all spoke great English. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained, but a little small and old. Overall great deal for the price of this hotel.
“Two nights in Paris”
Good location, convient to Metro and many resturants. I thought the breakfast was priced high for what you got. The hotel was being renovated while we were there but it did not interupt with our stay as we were gone most of the time. Room was small but was adequate for our needs. Most important the bathroom was clean. Probably would stay there again if we were to go back to Paris.
