“A very successful stay”

The hotel was easy to find. Use Pigalle not Anvers if using the Metro. Otherwise the Bus no30 will take you from the Gare du Nord to Pigalle if you prefer not too much walking with cases etc. (Buy a carnet of tickets in the station.) The breakfast at 7Euros was very good and you can clean your teeth afterwards. As much coffee or tea as you want which is an amazing deal in Paris. Normally you pay 4.5 Euros per cup in a cafe... The Eurostar was great too!

I can't understand some of the negative comments I've seen about this hotel. As a budget base for easy access to Paris it can't be bettered. I particularly appreciated the helpfulness of the night porter [I think his name is Sylvain]. He patiently helped me with my attempts to master french pronunciation, and pointed us to places to eat. The rooms were warm, clean and tidy. Beds were made each day and towels replaced. I give it 5 stars as a base. My granddaughter certainly saw french life 'in the raw' as it were; and it helped her french no end. We had a good laugh about it. So don't be too thin-skinned when you go out, but just be careful at night; obviously. I will certainly stay there again next time I go.

“Much better than expected”

I read some negative reviews here, but this hotel was much better than expected. Yes, the elevator is small, but the whole time i was there, i didn't have to share it. The room was bigger than expected, as was the bed. Front desk staff were very helpful. My flight left late at night, and they let me leave my luggage at the front desk after checking out. Very convenient location. A lot of sex shops and stripclubs, but never felt unsafe, even at night. Don't buy the breakfast in the hotel...there are plenty of cheap alternatives close by. Overall, a great way to experience Paris. I was on the 6th floor, with a small balcony...great view, and great way to unwind after a packed day sightseeing.

How can people write so bad comments about this hotel? Good quality for good price. Exactly what you expect for. A nice room and a nice staff. I spent an agreable stay in Paris at a walking distance from Galleries Laffayettes and shopping centers where I enjoyed the such beautiful Christmas illuminations. I will come again.
