Très bien situé, personnel de réception aidant et sympathique. Un peu déçu par les petits déjeuners, une certaine variété, mais monotones au bout d'une semaine (une orte de pain, deux sortes de viennoiseries, deux céréales). Personnel de salle à manger peu dynamique (il fallait attendre parfois longtemps pour avoir une table mise, ou pour renouveller le buffet qui manquait souvent d'items). Oeufs seraient appréciés.

“A Good Base to Explore From.”

This hotel is situated just outside the main centre of the city but with a Metro stop just 2 minutes from the door it made a great base to explore the city from. If you don't mind the walk you can even walk into the centre in about 30 minutes. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were on the small side but this wasn't a problem as we didn't spend much time there except to sleep. Breakfast was the usual continental fare and there was plenty of it even if the choice wasn't extensive. There were some restaurants in the area and the Algerian restaurant next door did very acceptable and affordable food. We would certainly recommend this as a base to visit the city.

“Close to Metro”

This hotel was less than a block from the Metro. There was lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The rooms were small, but clean. Bathrooms were a fair size with a small shower. The breakfast that is included in only a continental breakfast and doesn't include anything hot. I would stay here again.

“Very enjoyable stay”

The first day we arrived it was late in the evening, but we found the hotel easily following the instructions from the train station. It's a few minutes walk from the closest metro so very easy to visit different places. The reception staff were very friendly and multi-lingual, happy to help with directions to find the main attractions. The room was fairly small but clean and comfortable, it only closet room to hang a few items which did mean we had to live out of our suitcases for a week! We only had one slight problem with the shower as the screen wasn't large enough so we ended up flooding the bathroom every day, but apart from that there were no problems. Small breakfast buffet was laid out each morning but there was a good variety of food. Overall I was very happy with the hotel and felt perfectly safe, quite close to some nice restaurants too. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Great hotel with nearby metro!”

Room was clean and decent sized. Beds were comfortable. No alarm clock, but we bought our own. Flat screen TV was mounted on the wall with mostly French channels, but also had BBC and CNN. Key card for the room controls the power/lighting, so when taken out of the slot in the wall, something plugged in (such as an alarm clock) will stop working or charging. Bathroom is fairly small, especially the shower... you can hardly bend down in there to pick something up (there's no ledge to put your shampoo). Despite that, I wouldn't call it a problem. Safe in the room was locked when we got there. We couldn't program it to put our stuff in, but didn't bother getting them to fix this, as we didn't have many valuables and kept our passport and stuff in our luggage. The metro map we got from both Expedia and my guide book showed only zones 1-3 of the metro, Classics Hotel Bastille gave us a map that went up to zone 5, so we could see what RER to take to get to Versailles. VERY useful. Breakfast was good. 2 different types of cereal, various choices of breads/croissants, 2 or 3 choices of cheese, some tea and orange juice. Not exactly a "buffet" like 4 or 5 star hotels have, but I found the choice of food to be perfect. The hotel wasn't in a very exciting neighbourhood but the Charonne metro is only a 1 minute walk away. A very convenient location. Lastly, the hotel staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would revisit.

“Classics Hotel Bastille”

The hotel is small, clean and well maintaned and the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was small but comfortable with ensuite bath with shower over, with a good flow of water. Our room was on the road side of the hotel, but the double glazing was of good quality and cut out much of the traffic niose. The only downside to the room was that there was no tea making facilities. The free wi-fi was good for keeping in touch with family back home, but could be hard to connect to between 5 and 7 pm. The Breakfast is of a cold buffet style with plenty of chioce. Sadly no evening meals available, but light items could be ordered from room service. The hotel is handy for public transport routes, just 2 minute walk from the Charonne Metro station.

“Got the job done”

Free WiFi and Complimentary Continental Breakfast were my main reasons for choosing this hotel. The WiFI was effective and worked. The breakfast was suffice. The staff was hospitable. The rooms are small since it is Paris, but we had a small balcony and that was certainly very nice. The bathrooms are tiny but modern and very clean. The Charonne train stop on the 9 is at the corner and that makes this hotel very convenient for travel around Paris. I would certainly stay here again if the price is right.

“Good base for city visit”

Clean hotel well placed for exploring. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of literature detailing tourist spots and how to get there. Our room smaller than expected and storage minimal but we weren't in it much. Previous reviewer said breakfast poor, but in our experience we found it fresh and good value. Lot of local bars and eating places nearby. Excellent patisserie too, but expect to queue outside! Metro very close and regular buses. Recommended as budget hotel.
