“Location was great as was the value.”
We found the location convenient to the "metro" therefore it was easy to have full access to the city. The hotel is in a "neighborhood" moreso than a "tourist" area. This made the vacation more enjoyable for us. The local cafes, bakeries, restaurants were great - very friendly and helpful. They were also much less expensive than when we patronized similar establishments near the Louvre, Arc d' Triumph and the embassy area. The hotel itself was quite, clean, comfortable and had a friendly staff. We had a one-bedroom apt. and paid for cleaning mid-way through our stay (it's worth the $30/approx.). Check out the shops (food, flowers, gifts) on Overkampf Street and the Sunday 'farmer's market' on Boulevard Richard Renoir at Bastille place (it is also held on other days-check at the hotel).
“Can't wait to go back”
Found hotel to be clean, comfortable, with a lovely atmosphere.Staff made us most welcome.Idealy located, for tourists.Plan on going back,in a few months.
“New, clean and security special access, though not in the most elegant neighbourhood”
Our hotel had security special access, and a free safety box, rooms are small but very clean, new and nice, with kitchen, dishwasher, microwave and a complete set with forks, dishes, etc. microwave. Ask for shampoo, toilet paper, towels and soap for the dishwasher in the front desk. We liked of the location because it's steps from the Parmentier metro station (green line 3), though the neighbourhood it is not so elegant and distinguished as anothers in Paris, but even you have cheap food close, even a Mc Donald's. They offer you a continental breakfast for around extra 10 euros, but we prefered to buy food and milk in the closest corner, it could be cheaper.
“Better than expected.”
Great rate and excellent service. The apartment had all you ask for.
“Great hotel, good price, easy location”
Clean and comfortable. Excellent for a weekend break.
“Would go back”
But would upgrade to an apartment next time.
“Good Value”
The staff was pleasant and they all spoke English very well. Free coffee all day long was a nice touch. The location is great - lots of metro stations around. My only complaints are: 1) we did not receive maid service once during our 5 day stay and 2) there is no fitness centre (which was advertised on expedia.ca).
“pretty good location”
We stayed at this Citadines in 2009.The only drawback for an August stay is its not air conditioned.Howevere, this year we asked to be moved from the original ground floor room allocated & were allocated the room we had the previous year which faced into a coutyard with a tall tree outside the window which meant we could have the window open and be screened by the tree and feel we were in almost complete privacy and the tremp. was tolerable. The location is fairly convenient to walk to the Seine, Canal St Martin- (recommended )and so on . all the shops youre likely to need within 5 mins walk at most.Staff all extremely helpful.
“Would certainly go back”
We just spent a week in Paris with our 2 kids and stayed at Citadines Republique. We were very satified with our stay. The location is great...you can walk to the center of Paris or take the Metro located right by the hotel. There are several grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants located nearby. We loved the pannini/crepe stand a couple doors down. We stayed in a 1 bedroom which was enough room although finding where to put our suitcases was a challenge. The kitchen is tiny, but great for breakfast items, wine, cheese, soda and snacks. The bathrooms are large and divided into 2 rooms....toilet in one room and shower and sink in the other. For the most part, the hotel was very quiet. Our rooms were located toward the back though and on the weekend, there was a bar below us where young people seem to gather and they stood out in the street until all hours of the morning. We just turned on the fan above the stove in the kitchen to drown out the noise. The staff was very friendly and spoke wonderful english. They were also very helpful. We would return to this hotel.
“Excellent Hotel for Famiies”
Stayed there 25th September and had a great stay. The staff were very helpful and the room was spacious which is great when you have two young children. Well situated and plenty of restaurants nearby.

Bastille - Republique 11), Paris, France: Northeast of Place de la Bastille, this working-class neighbourhood is gradually becoming fashionable with younger Parisians. Trendy boutiques, cafés and bars are replacing the older shops and bistros, although some old-fashioned workshops survive. Left-wing sentiments are aired here annually on 14th July when France commemorates the Revolution. A few paving stones mark the site of the former Bastille prison.
