“Great location; nice hotel”

The hotel is situated across the bridge from the Ile de la Cite where the Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral are located. It's a short walk across the bridge and down a few streets to see a number of historic sites. In the opposite direction are several restaurants and shops. The location couldn't be beat. Although the hotel is not as upscale as some of the higher priced hotels, it is very clean and the front desk staff was so helpful and friendly. In the 2 room units, you have a bedroom, bathroom, a small living room and a kitchenette. The kitchen includes dishes/silverware, a sink, microwave, small refrigerator, 2 burner glasstop stove (no oven) and a small dishwasher. There was a hotpot to make boiling water. So, bring a couple of #4 coffee filters in your suitcase, buy or bring ground coffee, and you can pour water through the coffee filter cone provided in the kitchen to have coffee in the morning. It was nice to have the extra room and the convenience of a kitchenette. As for the city itself, there are so many sites that you would not be able to see everything you want in a week. Take time to enjoy the people, the food and the history that surround you at every turn. We had a great time in Paris. Go and enjoy - you'll be glad you did.

Area recommendations
The hotel is in a great area of the city. There are a number of restaurants within a short walking distance and we felt safe walking back to the hotel at night. I can recommend the St. Germain section of the city without hesitation.
Getting around
The subway (metro in Paris) and RER train run from the same stations. There are two stations within a two to three block radius of the hotel, so getting around the city is never a problem.

“Pricey, but Good Service and Great Location”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Citadine. We booked a 1-bedroom suite for our family of four. The apartment consisted of a living room with a small kitchenette (sink, stove, microwave, small dishwasher). The sofa converted into a twin size bed and there was also a second trundle bed hidden under the sofa. The bathroom had a very modern European flare--the heater doubled as a towel rack. The bedroom included a double sized bed and a small closet. It was small but sufficient. Our apartment was on the top floor (7th floor) on the back-side. The front side overlooks the River Seine and Pont Neuf. The back side overlooks the city skyline to the south. We had a clear view of the Eiffel Tower from our apartment (about a mile away). We enjoyed watching the evening light show at the tower from our apartment window. We would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations
There are several bakeries and shops in the neighborhood behind the hotel, to include a supermarket (Carrefour) if you plan on doing some meals in the room. Just follow Rue Dauphine to the south.
Getting there
Upon arriving Paris, we took a 40-min train ride on the RER-B from Charles de Gaulle airport terminal to the St-Michel/Notre-Dame stop. The fare was very reasonable, about half the cost of a taxi. The hotel is a short 5-min walk from the Metro stop along the River Seine. This does require navigating tunnels, stairs, and city streets with your luggage.
Getting around
Several sites are within walking distance of the hotel. Our stops included Pont Neuf, Notre Dame, Louvre, and Musee d'Orsay. For families with kids, make sure to stop by the playground located on the east side of Notre Dame. For sites further away, we found the Metro quite accomodating. The hotel is easily accessible from -the Pont Neuf and St Michel stops. The Saint Germain des Près stop is also nearby, but the way back to the hotel can be tricky to navigate on the city streets. The water taxis are also a great option for site seeing. Lastly, the RER (train) provides a great option for reaching sites farthest from city center. The Airport, Palace of Versailles, and Euro Disney were accessible from the St-Michel stop near the hotel.

“Best place to stay for extended visit.”

Modern comfort and perfect location. We enjoyed our extended stay in Paris due in part to the location, roominess and modern comforts of the Citadines. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment, definitely worth the extra price, will opt for the same next time. Location right by the river, close to the metro and easy walk to many places of interest. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Area recommendations
Latin Quarter has all the charm of old Paris. Paris has an amazing metro system so easy to get anywhere in short time. Loved the Latin Quarter and will stay there again.
What to pack
Be sure to pack comfortable walking shoes.
Other
We took two bike tours with Fat Tire Bike Tours. Wonderful way to see Paris and Versailles.

“Love this hotel!!”

This hotel is in a great location, central to all Paris attractions. There is a metro and RER station within a few minutes walk of the hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean. We did not cook, however, having the kitchenette was great for evening snacks and drinks. There is a supermarket within a few minutes walk of the hotel. When we return to Paris, we will definitely stay at this hotel again!!

Area recommendations
St. Germain and the Latin Quarter were our favorite areas in Paris. Lots of quaint restaurants and cafes. Beautiful old buildings and lots of history in this area.

“Best location in Paris”

The Citadine is located in walking distance from major attractions. Very easy access to transportation. If I would have been familiar with Paris I would have hopped the train from the airport, drops you close to hotel - would have saved $$$. Large, clean, updated rooms. Helpful staff. Great coffee!!!!!

Area recommendations
Absolutely Latin Quarter & Saint Germain.
Must see
Paris at night.

“Highly recommend!”

Our choice of Citadines for our stay in Paris was a great one! We had a studio, which was a little small, but okay for two of us and luggage. The room was comfortable and the kitchen area was very convenient. We also appreciated the laundry facilities, as we wanted to do laundry before moving on to the next city of our trip. The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. The hotel has an excellent location, within 5 minutes of a main Metro stop. We definitely recommend this location of Citadines for anyone going to Paris!

“Thrilled with hotel and location”

Hotel was wonderful- staff helpful and friendly. Free internet and computers to use were great. Coffee machine in lobby was a nice treat. Beds were SO comfortable. Hotel and room were very clean. Quiet, safe area at night. Great neighborhood with good restaurants and shops nearby. Had a bit of trouble with our phone receiving calls but it was taken care of quickly when discovered. Not far from Metro. Tons of room- so much better than a hotel room. Been to Paris twice- Can't wait to go back- would stay here again in a minute.

Area recommendations
Go around the corner to Rue Dauphine. From here you will find cute shops, restaurants, Starbucks, a full grocery store, a florist, an ATM- everything you would need.
Getting around
We did a lot of walking, but the Metro was close- about 2 blocks away, the bus stop was right across the street from the Hotel entrance and there were always cabs available on the street. If traveling with older people or handicapped- I do NOT recommend using the Metro. The steps are too high, the doors close very fast and when the escalators are not working in a station it is a lot of steps to navigate up and down.
Must see
The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc du Triomphe. We had a taxi take us from the hotel to the Arc and drive us down the Champs Elysees at night, then past The Concorde, Petit Palais, Grand Palais and back to the hotel. It was about 20 euros for the whole trip and a great way to see the Arc at night as well as all the lights of the Champs Elysees.
Shopping
Avoid Printemps on the weekend and in January during the sales. Everyone and their mother were there and the crowd is pushy and rude. I've never seen anything like it and never wish to again. The grocery store near the hotel was great. Buy cheeses, wine, fruit and a baguette and snack in your room before going out for the night. WARNING! The grocer closes at 1:00 on Sunday and they stop letting people in around Noon. Plan ahead.
Dining
First of all, remember that taxes and tip are included in the price. We kept tipping like we would in the states until my cousin who lives in Paris told us of this! (Waiters and cab drivers will never tell you and happily take your money.) There was a great Italian restaurant on the corner, up the street near the Metro- can't remember the name but it was very cute and had blue neon lighting. Also near that corner was a fun Irish pub, The Galway. At the corner of Rue Dauphine and Rue Christine we had a terrible meal- easily the worst food I have ever had in Paris. Again I don't remember the name but it was Italian. Order from the Prix Fixe menus to keep costs down- almost every restaurant has them. This way you get a starter, an entree and a dessert often for the same price as an entree alone off the a la carte menu.
