“Charing Cross -- Good value”

Excellent location for walking and using buses and subway. Small rooms, but that's the norm for Paris. Friendly, helpful front desk staff who spoke good English. Room was clean -- especially the bathroom. It's not a posh hotel, but it is excellent value with much to recommend it. We stayed three nights and would certainly do so again.

“Excelent location, cheap hotel.”

This hotel has a good relation between price/benefit. The instalations are kind reduced, but comfortables. Good choice if you plan to stay 1 or 2 days in Paris saving some bucks near to the commercial area of Paris.

“Location was great”

Staying in Paris, hotels tend to be old but refurbished. Charing Cross was no exception. Location was great, net to St Lazare station. Was less then 10 minutes walking from Opera, which is where the Rossy Bus stops. Rossy bus was the cheapest transport from Charles De Gaulle airport to Paris city. It only stops at Opera. Bets to allow plenty of time as the time table may be unreliable and traffic can be chaotic in Paris. Opera is also where the large department stores are located. Hotel was small. Lift only for 3 people and with luggage then only fit 1. I used the stairs if without luggage. Room was also small, but the bed was large (double), so not a lot of room to walk. It has large window facing the street, but the street was very quiet, so no problems with noise. Bathroom size was ok and hot water was plentiful. Only complaint was the room heater is centrally controlled. So you can not adjust the heat. My experience was they turn it high during the night and low during the day. I stayed during November 2010 (winter). I notice there is no air-con, only a small fan. The 24hrs front desk speaks sufficient English. They prefer you to leave the key with them when going out. Might have to wait 5 minutes if the front desk was temporarily unattended as only one person working. Overall I would stay here again for the convenience.

“Charming Traditional European Hotel”

I've stayed in many hotels throughout Europe and this was one of my favorites. The concierge were always nice and helpful, always ready to chat and make recommendations. The hotel is right across the street from Gare St-Lazare with 5 different metro lines and a couple of RER lines. There are a ton of great restaurants just steps away, a mall and a department store a couple of blocks away, and I found 2 grocery stores nearby. Across the street, facing the hotel, is an indie film theater. My only complaint about my room was the bathroom ceiling which looked unfinished and was boarded up with vinyl slats. There was no A/C in the room but I got a terrace; leaving one of the balcony doors opened throughout the day was sufficient even in July.

“Friendly Staff, rooms miniscule...”

Arrived for a one night stay-met by very pleasant front desk staff. Given room 609-an attic room, view of a shaft-''double'' bed only slightly larger than a single-for 2 6ft+ men was very umcomfortable. Asked for a room change-no availability as hotel was full. These things happen. It was only for one night and the basic necessities of hot water and cleanliness were met. Great location, and praise again for the hotel staff.

“Very Basic”

Room looked nothing like the one shown on the website. Was OK as budget hotel and realise Paris is expensive city but expected more for my money. Would summarise as very basic room.

“Centrally Located Hotel”

Good service provided. Quality as you would expect from three star. Management well versed to give advice and guidance to attractions and directions around Paris. Unit small and had a slight odour

“Just so so”

The location of the hotel is quite good, but the room, especially for three persons is too small.
