“Nice quiet hotel in a good location”

This hotel was very quiet and the rooms were nice sized for Europe. Convenient location across from the Denfort station on the metro. Near a small street market and near lots of cafe's and restaurants. Walking distance from the Catacombs. Only complaint is the bathtub/shower combination: no standing shower, hard to manuveur if you are tall.

“Perfect Location”

Great location. The hotel is literally across the road from the metro station which is on the same line as Gare du Nord (just a 20 minute metro ride). Lots of cafes, and eating places and shops around the hotel. I was very impressed with this hotel. The room was clean, and much more roomy than I had expected. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a place to stay for a short break in Paris.

“Love this hotel!”

I love this hotel and so do my friends and family that have stayed there with me over the past nine years. I have stayed there three times, and the neighborhood is great on a tree-lined street. The Restaurant Contini about two blocks on same side of street has great food - homemade pizzas, great pastas, and fried shrimp (scampi frita). Many stores for shopping, buying breakfast, etc. MacDonalds on same side of street in both directions. Two Gaumont cinemas nearby. For breakfast buy pastry at Monoprix bakery across street or visit bakery at Denfert-Rochereau by taking a right when exiting hotel and walk until you reach the Denfert-Rochereau area and turn right. Bakery on right at end of block. Fresh pastries, breads, and cold canned and bottle soft drinks. They also have tables outside for sitting while you eat. The Catacombs are in this area. Several buses stop in front of hotel - bus to Opera and Latin Quarter and other areas. The hotel bathrooms are generally small, but have shampoo, hair dryers, etc. The staff is always helpful and nice. Cheap transportation to and from airport --even for a 60 year old woman is easy. Take the RER B from or to airport and get off at the Denfert/Rochereau stop. The hotel is about six blocks away on Avenue General Leclerc and the walk is flat and easy. This stop has elevator. You need to buy a ticket for about 8 euros each way.

“Great Location and Hotel”

Hotel was in a great neighbor with cafe's, bakeries, restaurants and grocery stores. Metro was across the street. The RER train station was just a 5 minute walk which we took to and from the De Gaulle Airport and to Versaille. The Catacombs entrance was across the street from the RER station. Location was also just a 30-40 minute walk to the Luxumbourg Gardens and the Pantheon. Hotel staff was attentive and helpful with anything we needed, including obtaining wine opener. Great vacation and experience.

“Well located and comfortable”

This hotel is clean and functional and well-located for seeing Paris, an excellent budget choice which I would visit again. Less than 10 minutes from Denfert-Rochereau RER station and you just have to cross the street to get to the metro, this hotel makes getting around easy, and you don't have to deal with waiting for the concierge to let you in the front door when you come back late at night. Rooms are basic, but contain a TV, AC and a fridge, with a hair dryer in the bathroom. Generally the hotel was quiet, and I asked for a room away from the street in advance, so there was no traffic noise. The front desk staff were excellent, in that they spoke English and seemed to appreciate you trying to speak French to them. The free wireless internet was an added boon, with a very strong connection. The only slight downside was the maid service - on the first day I was left a bottle of water in the fridge, but on subsequent days that wasn't replaced. Also, whenever I used a towel, the maid would take it away (even though it was hung on the rack) but not replaced. If I had stayed longer, I think I would have been towel-less!

“Great cost-benefit in Paris!”

We were recommended to this hotel by a friend who also stayed there. The room is small, but very clean and worked out well for us. The neighborhood is great and close by the metro. Next time, we will look for and try to stay here again - if they have good rates.

“Great Hotel”

This was an excellent hotel with great access to all the major sites of Paris as there was a Metro station right across the street (line 4) and RER station approx 3-5 mins walk along the street. I only used the hotel as a base and somewhere to put my head down at night. I can't comment on the quality of the breakfast as i never used this facility - but at 10 euros pp - it seemed a bit expensive. However, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking of staying here. Ideal base for discovering Paris.

“Great Safe Hotel to stay within walking distance of Metro”

I picked this hotel solely on the basis of other reviews on expedia. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. The hotel was clean, in a safe neighborhood and was convenient to a local grocery store, bakery and the metro and RER line going to the charles de gaule airport. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but instead walked down the street to the bakery and had fresh croissants. The grocery store just a little further down the street provided us with cold sandwiches and drinks.

“Small but well formed”

Located just a few miles from the city centre this hotel is ideally placed. A metro station, supermarket, post office and banks are all within 5 minutes walk and several bistros and restaurants are also very close. The rooms are compact (especially the bathroom and shower cubicle) but perfectly functional and practical.
